Birth*William was born. Year c1764 alleged without citation by Mary B Smith's Descendants of Henry Witcher at Genealogy.com.
Marriage*He married Rachael Witcher, daughter of Maj. William Witcher Sr., between 1775 and 1805 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. Date and location per Swann without citation. They claim children born between 1781 and 1805 so how the year 1778 makes sense is unclear. But it's the only claim of any date I've found. Close enough for now.
Hubbard says Williams' surname was Morris, Descendants and Swann say Morrison. I've also seen Merripson.3,2,1

Nancy Young1

Last Edited7 Apr 2023
Birth*Nancy was born in 1803.1
Marriage*She married Ephraim Witcher, son of William Witcher Jr. and Mary "Mollie" Dalton, circa 1819, date estimated.1
Census1840Nancy is probably the female age 30 to 39 listed in the household of her husband, Ephraim Witcher, in the 1840 Federal Census of Regiment 107, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.2
Census1850*Nancy and Ephraim appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Dist. 68, Pettis Co., Missouri, enumerated 12 September 1850, as 50 yo farmer Ephraim & 50 yo Nancy Witcher. Their children William Patrick, Elizabeth Angelina, Peyton Oglesby, Harriett Jane, Sarah Emily and Nancy Frances were listed as living with them.3
Census1860Nancy and Ephraim appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Heaths Creek Twp., Pettis Co., Missouri, enumerated 14 August 1860, as 58 yo farmer Ephraim & 58 yo Nancy Witcher. Also in the household were 25 yo James & 20 yo Fanny Hodges, 2 yo Clay & 0.5 yo Frances Hodges and 12 yo Daniel B. Owens. I speculate that Fanny is Ephraim & Nancy's daughter Nancy Frances and this is her family. Only problem with that is it shows Fanny's birthplace as Missouri and prior info suggests Virginia.4
Death*Nancy died. Year 1869 alleged without citation by Mary B Smith's Descendants of Henry Witcher at Genealogy.com.

He's not with the family in either the 1830 or 1840 census. If there's any evidence for I've not found it. He's alledged to be buried in Blair Cemetery, Smyrna, but there's no headstone photo or info on how it was determined that he's buried there.
