Edward was wounded by a gunshot to the leg at Cedar Mountain, VA on 09 Aug 1862. He was taken prisoner the same day. He died while a POW at Fort Delaware. His 'muster out' date was 28 Jan, twenty days after his death.5,1
Burial*	He was buried on 8 January 1865 at Finn's Point National Cemetery in Pennsville, Salem Co., New Jersey. Veterans' Gravesites shows he died and was interred the same day. Find A Grave provides photo of Civil War soldiers monument but no headstone photo.6,7,1

My preliminary research suggests their children were Mary Virginia (1858-1930, m. Geo Edward Dellinger), Benjamin Franklin (1860-1915, m. Emma C Dellinger) and son Ross ( -b1896, died before his mother; missing in 1860-1880 censuses).3,1,4
Census1860*	David and Isabella appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Orkney Springs Dist., Shenandoah Co., Virginia, enumerated 31 August 1860, as 24 yo farmer David & 31 yo Isabella Ross. Their children 2 yo Mary and 0.4 yo Benjamin Ross were listed as living with them, as well as unknown persons 53 yo Mary Ross & 22 yo Hiram Ross. Isabella's widowed father Peter and three siblings live three doors below.5
Milit-Service*	David Ross served as a Private with Co. F, 10th Virginia Infantry during the Civil War between 1861 and 1864. He enlisted at Woodstock, VA 18 Apr 1861. Marriage*	She married Lt. John Witcher Jr., son of Maj. William Witcher Sr., before 1774. This marriage date alleged without citation by Mary B Smith's Descendants of Henry Witcher.2
Estate-Will	Susannah was named executrix and an heir in the will of Lt. John Witcher Jr., her husband, dated 23 February 1834 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, as Susanna Witcher.2,3
Death*	Susannah died. Witcher Family Genealogy's attached tree claims without citation that her she was died in 1848 in Pittsylvania County.1

ResearchNote*	Research Note of 30 May 2023 re Find A Grave. I don't believe that our Eliza is the same Eliza Andrick who perhaps m1 Raphael Fadley and m2 John Evy. That Eliza has a Find A Grave memorial no. 64290523. Evidence suggesting she is not our Eliza includes,      Virginia, U.S., Deaths and Burials Index, 1853-1917 entry for Eliza Evy (Andrick) shows her parents as Jos and Dianna Andrick. There's no evidence that our Eliza's father Joseph ever married anyone other than her mother Rececca Caroline Carsh and there's no way Dianna is a typo for Rebecca Caroline.      There are no other Andricks buried at 'false' Eliza's graveyard - Hudson Cross Roads Community Cemetery, aka Saint Johns United Church of Christ Cemetery. Hardly conclusive but suggestive.

Another marriage alleged by Smith without citation is to Fnu Epperson. Whether this alleged marriage was before or after Napier is not known. I've been unable to find any supporting evidence so far.1

Birth*	Elizabeth was born circa 1762, d/o John & Tabitha Fips. She was of Charlotte Co., Virginia at time of her marriage to Ephraim Witcher. Smith spells her surname Phipps and claims born 1756 without citation.1
Marriage*	She married Ephraim Witcher, son of James Witcher, before December 1778. Witcher Family writes they had at least thirteen, possibly fourteen, children. Four girls and ten boys.      Witcher writes, "Another interesting fact is that two of Ephraim Witcher's children (James and John) married two of William Witcher's grandchildren (Tempy and Polly Witcher). These marriages would seem more logical, and socially acceptable, if they had married their second cousins".1
Estate-Will	Elizabeth was named an heir in the will of Ephraim Witcher, her husband, dated 18 November 1819 at Surry Co., North Carolina.1
Death*	Elizabeth died circa 1847 in Surry Co., North Carolina.1
