In the 1910 she shows 1 born with 0 living. This child was likely 'infant son McKee' (1895-1895) shown in her Find A Grave memorial. The 1st infant sons listed for her by Find A Grave was actually by James' first wife Elizabeth Moore.5,6

Their daughters 6 yo Jimmie I, 3 yo Boonie A, and 0.6 yo Ruth M McKee were listed as living with them. Eugene is the 2nd HOH in this dwelling.9

Their children 16 yo Jimmie I, 13 yo Boonie A, 10 yo Ruth M, 9 yo Gwina J, 7 yo Opal J, and 4.8 yo Eugene B McKee Jr were listed as living with them, as well as Willie's mother 79 yo widow Donie E Shirley.10

Their children 14 yo Eugene McKee Jr and 26 yo Jimmie Carr were listed as living with them, as well as Jimmie's sons (as grandsons) 7 yo Jimmie Lee and 1 yo Jerry Dale Carr. Porter's 89 yo widowed mother Doire Shirley was still living with them.11
Milit-Service*	Eugene Blocker McKee served as Boatswains Mate 2nd Class with the US Navy during WWII as shown on muster list of the USS Alderamin of 1 September 1945. The Alderamin was a Crater-class cargo ship.12

His children 15 yo Howard, 13 yo Oliver, 9 yo Gertrude, 6 y o J B, 2.3 yo Eunice and 0.4 yo daughter Leemadeen McKee were listed as living with them, as well as one boarder.5
Marriage*	His second marriage was to Sophronia Lnu from 3 February 1920 to 10 April 1930. James is with m1 Dovie in the 1920 census, with m2 Sophronia in the 1930.      Sophronia's prior married name is unknown. Various obits suggest she may have had the following children, dau 1 (c1903- , perhaps m. Harry Hayes, res. Altus 1935), dau 2 (, perhaps m. John Johnson, res.Knoxville 1935), Claude Smith ( -a1942, res. Altus, OK 1943) and Gerald Smith ( -a1942, res. Altus, OK 1943).2

Census1940	James appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of 621 North Benson, Altus, Jackson Co., Oklahoma, as 62 yo MKT Railroad car inspector widower father-in-law James B McKee in the household of his son-in-law & daughter Tommie P & Eunice E Stone. Tommie & Eunice's 4 yo daughter Shirley Stone was also living in the household.      James's WWII draft card of 1942 shows the 'person who will always know where you are' as Edith McKee, living at this 621 North Benson address. It's possible that Tommie and Eunice have moved out by 1942 and that James has married for a third time. More likely the draft card is a sloppy enumeration and Edith McKee should read Eunice Stone.8
Death*	James died on 24 March 1943 at his home at 621 North Benson in Altus, Jackson Co., Oklahoma, at age 63, "suddenly".2,6,1

Birth*	Samuel, son of James B. Smith and Martha Ellen "Mattie" McKee, was born on 19 January 1886 in Honey Grove, Fannin Co., Texas. The 1900 census says Jan 1885. His Find A Grave memorial, WWI draft card and CA Death Index all say 19 Jan 1886. Find A Grave claims he was born in Stone Co., Arkansas. That doesn't fit with any other known facts. His SS App says he was born Stoneygrove, TX which is surely a typo or mis-read of Honey Grove. His Death Index entry lists his mother as Beard. I believe he got his mother's maiden name (McKee) confused with his maternal grandmother's (Baird).4,5,2,3

Their daughter15 yo Evelyn Prigmore was listed as living with them, as well as Evelyn's husband 21 yo dairy deliveryman C B Prigmore.6
Residence*	Herbert resided at 10332 Cheviot Dr. in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, in 1936, according to his California voter registration. Occupation artist, party affiliation Democrat. It's interesting that at the same address we find Mrs. Helen J Smith, housewife, Democrat. Perhaps this is a different Herbert C Smith.7
Death*	Herbert died on 3 June 1939 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at age 51. His death announcement in the LA Times mentions his wife Bessie M Smith and says the body was being sent to Dallas, Texas, Alvarez & Moore, forwarding directors.8,9,10
