Their children William Fountain Thomas, Sarah Eliza and Nancy Ellen were listed as living with them. In addition there were two farm hands and 19 yo Susan Mills, relationship if any unknown.7

Their children William Fountain Thomas, Sarah Eliza and Nancy Ellen were listed as living with them, The census page is very faint. I'm taking the HQO indexer's word for most of this. One other person in the household was 14 yo Edith Curley(sp?).8
Census1870	Nancy and George appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Clay Twp., Lafayette Co., Missouri, enumerated 13 September 1870, as 58 yo farmer George & 59 yo Nancy Blair. Their children Sarah Eliza and Nancy Ellen were listed as living with them. There's also an unknown 14 yo farm hand Arthur Blair, his race overwritten 'W' over 'B'. No idea who this is. Son Fountain and his family live next door.9

The A Wonderful Life tree at Ancestry claims her birthdate was 10 Aug 1818 in Pittsylvania County but the citations are four censuses and another Ancestry tree none of which are both accurate and reliable. The same entry says her parents were Edward T Robertson and Nancy R Fuqua Shepherd.2,3
Marriage*	She married Ralph E. Blair, son of Rev. William Blair Jr. and Nancy Thomas, on 3 December 1842 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. Two other daughters alleged by various sources but for whom I find no real evidence were Catherine Ann Blair (1851-1861) and Eleanor N Blair (1860- ).1

Marr-Bond*	James Slaydon and Eleanor L. Blair posted a marriage bond on 16 December 1832 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. They were married on the 19th. This couple has been a research deadend for me.      Dallas claims one other son, William Bryan Sladon (1824- ) who m. Sarah Thomas. That makes no sense based on James & Elizabeth's marriage year of 1832.2,3

Birth*	Silvany was born on 7 February 1807. Also spelled Sylvany. The Ross/Young tree at Ancestry claims without citation that his name was Sylvanus and that his parents were Sylvanus "Silvany" Gardner Sr & Elizabeth "Eliza" W Weldon.1,3
Marr-Bond*	Rev. Silvany Gardner Jr. and Sarah S. Blair posted a marriage bond on 20 September 1830 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. They were married on the 23rd.3
Census1830	Silvany appeared on the 1830 Federal Census of Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, with a household listed as 0001100001-000010001 as 20-29 yo Silvany Gardner. His wife Sarah was probably the female 20-29 yo. Best guess is that Silvany's parents were the male 70-79 and female 60-69. The ages fit. I don't know who the male 15-19 yo was. It's also unclear which Silvany Gardner was HOH - father or son?4

ResearchNote*	Research Note of 23 November 2021 re a puzzle. A Joseph Blair and a Ralph Blair both appear to have married Elizabeth (Lnu in the case of Joseph, Robertson in the case of Ralph). Both Joseph and Ralph appear to have died young. The 1850 census supports Joseph. He & Elizabeth are in Pittsylvania County with children William, Mary, Ellinor and Ralph. Yet there's also a marriage record for Ralph Blair & Elizabeth Robertson from 1842. Elizabeth shows up in 1860, '70, and '80 as a widow with children matching the 1850 census. So what gives? Are Joseph and Ralph the same person? Ralph's TMG ID is 838.

There were five others in the household, two as laborers, all unknown presently.14
Census1860	Elizabeth and William appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of North Dist., Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, enumerated 21 July 1860, as 49 yo William & 43 yo Elvira E. Reynolds. Their children William Harrison, Barton Thomas, Henry Clay, Jonah Lafayette, George Washington, Sarah Frances and Clarissa Anne "Clara" "Clary" were listed as living with them. Also in the home was their grandson William "Willie" H. Reynolds, son of John S. & Mary Elizabeth Robertson Reynolds, as 0.3 yo William H. Reynolds. Willie's mother allegedly died in June 1860.15

Howard Gregory writes:      John Francis Marion Blair, resident of Pittsylvania County, enlisted in Company I, 53rd Virginia Infantry on 22 April 1861 at Pittsylvania Court House as a private. He was hospitalized 17 November 1861 at Williamsburg with typhoid fever. On 11 December 1861 he was transferred to Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond and was furloughed to Pittsylvania County 14 December 1861. He was returned to his unit on 4 January 1862. He was discharged 17 May 1862 for being overage. He was described as 5' 10" tall, light complexion, dark eyes, black hair. Born 1826, died 1885, buried in Pittsylvania County." Blair claims John was in Company B, 38th Virginia Infantry, CSA.11

He was exchanged there on February 21, 1865. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant and was at Camp Lee on March 3, 1865. He was Killed in Action during the Battle of Five Forks on April 1, 1865. .1,7

Were they adopted?11

Select Marriages date is 10 Aug 1838. William's Find A Grave entry says 25 Aug. Perhaps the earlier date is the bond but I'm going with Select for now.4,1,5,6,7
Census1850*	William and Elizabeth appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Henry Co., Virginia, enumerated 31 July 1850, as 39 yo William & 33 yo Elizabeth Reynolds. Their children John S., William Harrison, Barton Thomas, Henry Clay and Jonah Lafayette were listed as living with them. There were five others in the household, two as laborers, all unknown presently.8
Census1860	William and Elizabeth appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of North Dist., Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, enumerated 21 July 1860, as 49 yo William & 43 yo Elvira E. Reynolds. Their children William Harrison, Barton Thomas, Henry Clay, Jonah Lafayette, George Washington, Sarah Frances and Clarissa Anne "Clara" "Clary" were listed as living with them. Also in the home was their grandson William "Willie" H. Reynolds, son of John S. & Mary Elizabeth Robertson Reynolds, as 0.3 yo William H. Reynolds. Willie's mother allegedly died in June 1860.9
