William H. Woods1

M, #925, b. May 1870, d. before 12 January 1920
Last Edited17 Mar 2024
Birth*William was born in May 1870 in Ohio.2
Marriage*He married Saloma Merein "Loma" Andereck, daughter of Irvin Minor Andereck and Amanda Maria "Mandy" Baughman, from 3 July 1889 to 3 July 1890 in Kosciusko Co., Indiana. Kosciusko Marriages says 03 Jul 1889. Indiana Marriages says same 03 Jul 1890. Married 10 years with 3 born & 3 living in the June 1900 census.
My preliminary research suggests their children were Maude Audrey Woods (1891-1907, died of tuberculous meningitis), Waunita Leota Woods (1893-1906, died of a strep infection), and Harry Owen Woods (1895- , res. Vallejo, CA 1954).3,4,2
Census1900*William and Saloma appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, enumerated 7 June 1900, as 30 yo grocery clerk William H & 26 yo wife Sarah E Woods. Their children 8 yo Maud A, 6 yo Wanita, and 4 yo Owen Woods were listed as living with them.2
Death*William died before 12 January 1920, date based on wife Loma showing as a widow in the 1920 census of this date. Ancestry's Darlin tree claims he died in 1930 but I find no evidence supporting this date.5
