Milit-Service* | Lt Col. James Robert Myers Sr. served as Lt. Col with the US Army during WWII & Korea from 1941 to 1958. The starting year of 1941 is a guess. James' headstone reads Lt. Col. US Army World War II Korea. The first record I've found is his promotion from Warrant Officer (W1) to Chief Warrant Officer (W2) on 01 Nov 1954. Next a promotion from CWO W2 to CWO W3 on 01 Nov 1958.1,3 |
ResearchNote* | Research Note of 4 October 2022 re Find A Grave. Claims he m. Katherine Addie Delaney (1924-2011) but I've found no marriage record. Presumably they had a son, James Robert Myers, given that the Colonel has 'Sr' tacked onto his name in his Find A Grave memorial. FSTrees entry for Katherine A DeLaney (1924–2011, ID no. LRCD-MN5) claims a Katherine A Delaney who m. James Robert Myers. She shows m1 to Myers, m2 to Elmer L Wiley, m3 to Theodore Wiley, and m4 to Walter Ervin Hurst. Her surname is Hurst in her Find A Grave memorial.1 |

Nancy Ramsey1,2
F, #4138, b. between 1816 and 1817
Birth* | Nancy was born between 1816 and 1817 in Ohio.3,4 |
Marriage* | She married Jacob Andrick Jr., son of Jacob Andereck Sr. and Catherine "Caty" Smith, before 1837, based on birthyear of eldest child listed by Mason. I consider the five children listed here as highly speculative but worthy of further research.5,1,2 |
Census1840 | Nancy is probably the female age 20 to 29 listed in the household of her husband, Jacob Andrick Jr., in the 1840 Federal Census of Madison Twp., Franklin Co., Ohio.6 |
Census1850* | Nancy and Jacob appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Groveport, Franklin Co., Ohio, enumerated 13 November 1850, as 43 yo grain merchant Jacob & 33 yo Nancy Andrick. Their son Samuel Vanmeter was listed as living with them.4 |
Marr-Divorce* | Nancy was divorced from Jacob Andrick Jr. at Franklin Co., Ohio, on 5 May 1859. Mason, extracting from Donald M. Schlegel's book Franklin Co., Ohio, divorces before 1870 writes that there are two divorce records for Nancy and Jacob Andereck. First is in Oct. 1846, shows marriage date of Oct. 1836, saying he left her 'about 3 months ago. 5 children, all deceased...' He was ordered to pay her alimony. 'Cause dismissed May 9 1848'. The second record is dated 5 May 1859, says married in Franklin Co. circa 1850. He is absent and she is informed he is living in California. There's a son, Samuel V., age 7. In the Feb. term of 1860 she is granted a divorce and her maiden name of Ramsey is restored. This begs the question did he marry two different Nancys and get divorced from each, or is this just a messy record?.5 |
Census1860* | Nancy appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Groveport, Franklin Co., Ohio, enumerated 6 June 1860, as 44 yo seamstess Nancy Andrick. Her son Samuel Vanmeter was listed as living with her.3 |
