Marriage*He married Lydia Dudley before 1779.1 
Census1790*Thomas appeared on the 1790 Federal Census of Queen Anne's Co., Maryland, with a household listed as 23501 as 16+ yo Thomas Leatherberry. His wife Lydia and children Thomas, Charles, Sarah, Zillah, Lydia, Mary and Willare are probably the people enumerated with him. Perfect but for one unidentified male 16+ yo.2 
Estate-Will*Thomas Leatherberry left a will dated 3 April 1794 at Queen Anne's Co., Maryland, naming wife Lydia his sole executrix and an heir. Named heirs were his sons John, Charles, William and Thomas and daughters Sarah, Zillah, Lydia and Mary. I have a typed transcript of this will but have been unable to find it online at Maryland Register of Wills Records, 1629-1999.3 
Death*Thomas died before 29 March 1796. His wife signed a probate bond this date in Queen Annes County re settlement of his estate.4

How do those names jive with the 1880 census enumeration showing Vace & Secil, both daughters? Estella and Secil may be same person but the birthyears don't line up.2,3

Birth*John was born in 1845 in Indiana. Parents born Pennsylvania & Virginia per the 1880 census. His Find A Grave entry says b 1848 but the headstone clearly reads 1845. His middle name was likely Winchester but I've found no direct evidence.3,4 
Milit-Service*Dr. John Winchester Vanosdol served with the 45th Indiana Infantry during the Civil War circa 1862.4 
Marriage*He married Sophia 0rtensia Downey, daughter of Rev. Amos Seborn Downey and Mary Glena Pavey, on 15 September 1868 in Switzerland Co., Indiana. In the 1900 & 1910 censuses Sophia shows 5 born with 4 still living.5,2,6 
Census1870John and Sophia appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Cotton Twp., Switzerland Co., Indiana, enumerated 7 September 1870, as 26 yo physician John & 20 yo Sophia Vanosdol. Their son Dawson Dwight was listed as living with them.7
