Birth*Isaac was born on 20 July 1788 in North Carolina (now Tennessee).2,3
Marriage*He married Nancy Janet "Jane" Richmond, daughter of James Richmond and Mary Donaldson, circa 1810, date estimated. Ragsdale states that their marriage record is not recorded in either Wilson or Sumner Counties.4,1,5
LandDeal*He purchased land in Wilson County (acreage not noted) by deed of bargain from N. Wellbourn in 1816.6
LandDealHe witnessed the land transaction between Andrew Richmond and N. Wellbourn in 1816 at Wilson Co., Tennessee; land in Wilson County (acreage not noted) by deed of bargain from N. Wellbourn.6
CensusLead*The 1820 Federal census listed a a 26-44 yo, who may be this person, as head of household at Lebanon, Wilson Co., Tennessee. Isaac McKee.7
Census1830Isaac appeared on the 1830 Federal Census of Carroll Co., Tennessee, with a household listed as 021201-0010011 as 30-39 yo Isaac McKee, one bracket too young. The second male in the 15-20 bracket is an unknown, as is the female in the 40-50 bracket, else a good matche. The extra female might be Isaac's mother, Sally, widowed in March 1830.8
TaxList*Isaac McKee appeared on a tax list of Dist. 12, Carroll Co., Tennessee, enumerated in 1836, showing 195 acres and 1 slave.9
LandDealHe purchased 100 acres of land in Gibson County from John Baird on 9 March 1838, for $800. The transcription of the subsequent lawsuit gives a purchase date of 9 Mar 1939 in the Injunction, but the payment schedule makes it clear the year was 1838.10

Census1840Isaac appeared on the 1840 Federal Census of Gibson Co., Tennessee, with a household listed as 00023001-20002001 as 50-59 yo Isaac McKee. Isac, James, Sam, Mary Ann, Alex, and Dan are right on. Nancy is one year younger than the bracket she's shown in. Mary Ann's husband Frank Wood is likely the remaining male 20-29 yo. One remaining unknown is the female < 5. Finally there's no one who fits for Mary Ann & Frank Wood's 2 yo son Ike T Wood.11
Lawsuit*Isaac filed a lawsuit against John Baird on 11 July 1840 in Gibson Co., Tenn., regarding some land McKee purchased from Baird in 1838.10
Move*Isaac and Nancy moved their residence from Tennessee to Texas in 1841. Allen writes, "All the early history we know of the McKee family is that they were originally from Carroll County, Tenn. to Texas, stopping a few years in Bowie county before coming to Fannin county". Bullock writes, "Grandfather's (Sam Wilson McKee) father (Isaac McKee) was with them when they came to Texas".12,13,14
Arrivals*Isaac McKee arrived at Republic of Texas on 8 November 1841.15,16
LandGrantIsaac McKee and Joseph Wilson witnessed the conditional certificate of Alexander A. McKee on 5 January 1842 at Bowie Co., Republic of Texas; 4th class headright grant, Conditional Certificate no. 62, recorded in Bowie County, for 640 acres of land in Bowie County, on.17
