His headstone at Find A Grave shows 07 Nov 1870; VA Births & Christenings says 07 Nov 1871. His age of 10 yo in the Jun 1880 census doesn't work with either year! After that the census record is all over the place.3,4

His obit says 'the family cemetery near his home' which still isn't enough to pinpoint exactly which cemetery.12,14

Her obit says Sunday the 15th. Since midnight is an AM hour it seems the 15th is the better choice. Her FSTrees record 2BLY-7XQ claims a death date of 01 Nov 1940 without citation but that's husband Christopher's death date.5,10,6

Marriage*His first marriage was to Cora May Gilbert on 28 October 1884 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. My preliminary research suggests their children were Judith Ellie (1886-1965, m. Lucas Casey Florence prob. bef. 1916), Guy (1888-1888) and Erle Martin Blair (1891-1935, m. Reba Calaway Lear 1927 Fredericksburg, VA).

Census1910John and Cora appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Elon Mag. Dist., Amherst Co., Virginia, enumerated 29 April 1910, as 53 yo farmer J Thomas & 43 yo wife Cora M Blair. Their children 22 yo Judith and 18 yo Eale M Blair were listed as living with them, along with two boarders and two servants.10 
Marriage*His second marriage was to Ella Jaye Shelhorse between 1910 and 1916. John & Ella's marriage date is hard to figure. Ella is called widow Ella J Anderson in the Jan 1920 Federal census. Yet John Thomas allegedly died 1916. She's called Ella J Anderson Blair in daughter Mary Lou Anderson's marriage record of Feb 1924. She's Ella J Shelhorse Anderson Blair on her own death certificate of 1941. Find A Grave says they were married in 1914 without citation.
     Ella had m1 John M Anderson in 1892 in Pittsylvania County and had four surviving children from that marriage at the time of her death.11,12 
Death*John died on 9 March 1916 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, at age 59.4,1 
Burial*He was buried at William A. Y. Blair Cemetery in near Chatham, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. Graveyard coordinates unknown. Brother Charles's obit calls it 'the near-by family cemetery'.4,13

Marriage*She married John Thomas Blair, son of William Addison Young Blair and Elizabeth Mahan, between 1910 and 1916. John & Ella's marriage date is hard to figure. Birth*George was born on 2 July 1853 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, s/o William Parsons & Liddia "Hettie" Yeatts. His Find A Grave memorial says 02 Jul 1858 but a close look at the headstone reveals 1853 which incidentally matches his birth record. His death record says 02 Jul 1852.
     Ancestry says middle initial is T but the only citation is the 1880 census which shows no middle initial at all!.2,1,4 
Marriage*His first marriage was to Melissa Frances Blair, daughter of William Addison Young Blair and Elizabeth Mahan, on 11 March 1877 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.5,3

Death*George died on 5 November 1948 in Staunton, Virginia, at age 95, of arteriorsclerosis. The date on the headstone is very hard to read but might say 05 Nov 1948.1,8,4 
Burial*He was buried at Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery in Chatham, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. Find A Grave provides photo of his headstone. Though his memorial has both the birth and death years wrong I feel sure this is his gravesite.4

VA Births & Christenings says 09 Aug 1855 at Bear Skin, Pittsylvania, s/o William A Y & Elizabeth Blair. Find A Grave says 13 Aug 1859 but has no headstone photo for confirmation. His FSTrees entry (ID LCP5-S8G) also has the 1859 date again without citation. He's 1 yo in the 1860 census so the VA Births record is likely a transcription error.2,3,1
