George Louis Osborne1,2
M, #1782, b. 21 August 1861, d. 24 May 1934
Birth* | George, son of John H. Osborne and Matilda Palmer, was born on 21 August 1861 in Bloomington, Macon Co., Missouri.5,1,2 |
Census1880 | George appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Independence Twp., Macon Co., Missouri in the household of his parents, John H. Osborne and Matilda Palmer, as 18 yo school teacher son George Osborne.6 |
ResearchNote* | Research Note of 30 May 2019 re possible marriage. FSTrees (entry for George Osborne (1862-deceased), K8VZ-BP9) claims he married Sally T Ault ca 1885 in Missouri and had five children - unnamed, Beulah, Hoyt, Ula, and Olen Roy Osborne. I find no evidence supporting any of these names at FS or in the censuses. It's possible the marriage and all five children fell between the 1880 and 1900 censuses but why are none of them in Henry County in 1900? There is a Hoyt Osborne of appropriate age in Jasper, MO with parents 48 yo George P & 48 yo Sally F Osborn, her maiden name being Ault. George's age is good but that's about all. |
Marriage* | He married Daisey Dorsey on 25 August 1897. No issue mentioned in Daisey's obit in Find A Grave.7,1 |
Census1900* | George and Daisey appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Clinton Twp., Henry Co., Missouri, enumerated 15 June 1900, as 38 yo dry goods salesman Geo L & 28 yo wife Daisy Osborne.8 |
Census1910* | George appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Clinton Ward 4, Henry Co., Missouri, as 47 yo boarder George Osborne in the household of 24 yo rail road brakeman Fred H Munson. No known relationship.9 |
Census1920 | George appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Clinton Twp., Henry Co., Missouri, as 58 yo department store salesman & roomer George L Osborne in the household of 46 yo tractor salesman Phillip E & 39 yo wife Nellie C Pezoldt.10 |
Death* | George died on 24 May 1934 in Clinton, Henry Co., Missouri, at age 72. Eva A Watson was informant on his death certificate, likely his sister.5,1 |
Burial* | He was buried at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Henry Co., Missouri.1 |
