My preliminary research suggests their children were Harry F (1909-1998, m. Ruth M Smalley c1937) and Carl A Heistand (1910-1987, m. Inez Crissinger 1932). There may have been a third son, Wayne Heistand (?-?), who is mentioned in brother Harry's obit, and a daughter Helen Catherine Heistand (?-?) mentioned in Carl's obit).1,4,2

Nancy Weatherholt1,2

F, #8119, b. 5 October 1825, d. December 1909
Last Edited14 Jul 2023
Birth*Nancy was born on 5 October 1825 in Pennsylvania, d/o John (and probably Elizabeth) Weatherholt. Maiden name is Witterholtz on her marriage record.2,3
Marriage*Her first marriage was to Methuselah Heistand, son of Martin Heistand and Catherine Andereck, on 3 February 1844 at Crawford Co., Ohio.3,1
Census1850Nancy and Methuselah appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Bucyrus Twp., Crawford Co., Ohio, enumerated 24 September 1850, as 29 yo farmer Methusala & 25 yo Nancy Houston. Their daughter Delilah was listed as living with them, as well as 10 yo Mary Wolfinger, relationship unknown. Nancy's probably parents 63 yo John & 59 yo Elizabeth Weatherholt live next door with daughters Sarah & Elizabeth.4
Census1860Nancy and Methuselah appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Eden Twp., Wyandot Co., Ohio, enumerated 23 July 1860, as 43 yo farmer Mathuse & 35 yo Nancy Heistand. Their children Delilah, John M., Catherine "Katie", Mary M. and Jesse L. were listed as living with them.5
Move*Nancy and Methuselah moved their residence from Ohio to Missouri in 1868.2
Census1870Nancy and Methuselah appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Benton Twp., Knox Co., Missouri, enumerated 9 July 1870, as 52 yo farmer Mathasela & 44 yo Nancy Heaston. Marriage*Her second marriage was to Benjamin H. Lapp on 18 January 1880 at at the bride's residence, Knox Co., Missouri. Ben had m1 Mariah Brubacker. Find A Grave claims 1881 for the marriage to Nancy but MO Marriage Records provides the date I've shown. A witness John Heaston was present, likely Nancy's brother-in-law from her m1 to Methuselah Heistand.
My preliminary research suggests Ben's m1 children were Elias, Nathaniel, Emanuel, Naomi, Benjamin F, Anna & Samuel Lapp, all of whom have Find A Grave memorials.7,2
Census1880Nancy and Benjamin appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Taylor Twp., Shelby Co., Missouri, enumerated circa 18 June 1880, as 54 yo farmer Benjamin & 54 yo Nancy Lapp. Benjamin's 14 yo son (from his m1) Benjamin Lapp was listed as living with them, as well as one boarder.8

Burial*She was buried at Farnam Cemetery, Frontier Co., Nebraska. Find A Grave provides portrait but no headstone photo. There's also a summary of an obit from unknown newspaper, suspected to be The Farnam Echo, ca. January 1909. Newspapers.com has some Farnam Echo issues, but not from 1909.2

Birth*Daniel, son of George Moore and Mary Ann Fox, was born on 11 October 1858 in Rawson, Hancock Co., Ohio. His death certificate & Find A Grave both claim 11 Oct 1854. There's no supporting headstone photo at Find A Grave. He's 2 yo in the 1860 census, 12 yo in 1870, 22 yo in 1880. So 1858 seems much more likely. Informant on his death certificate was his m2 Emma. Date cited here is best guess.3,1
Census1860Daniel appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Union Twp., Hancock Co., Ohio in the household of his parents, George Moore and Mary Ann Fox, as 2 yo Daniel Mire(?)4
Census1870Daniel appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Union Twp., Hancock Co., Ohio in the household of his parents, George Moore and Mary Ann Fox, as 12 yo farm worker Daniel More.5
Census1880Daniel appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Union Twp., Hancock Co., Ohio in the household of his parents, George Moore and Mary Ann Fox, as 22 yo son Daniel Moore.2
Marriage*His first marriage was to Mary Jane "Jennie" Foltz on 23 February 1882 at Hancock Co., Ohio. My preliminary research suggests their children were Nellie Grace Moore (1883-1961), Cora Agnes "Carrie" Moore (1884-1908, m. Herman Otto Bish 1904), and Harry Dewitt Moore (1886-1946, m. Vera Jessup 1894, perhaps m. Carrie E Cook 1909 but it was Jessup who informed on Harry's death certificate).
Preliminary census research for 1900 shows Nellie as 17 yo servant in home of William & Marian Murphy, Carrie as 15 yo in the home of Peter A & Sarah Foltz, and Harry as a 14 yo in Boy's Industrial School, Fairfield. Apparently their father abandoned them all after Jennie's death.6
Marriage*His second marriage was to Emma Elizabeth Foltz on 7 June 1917 at Adrian, Lenawee, Michigan. Find A Grave says Elizabeth's other husbands were George Hartrauft (m. 1884) and Lewis Thomas Buckland (m.1907). There's another spousal link at Find A Grave to Josiah Lee (1866-1942, m. 1902) though he's not mentioned in the text.7,8
Census1920*Daniel and Emma appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Findlay, Hancock Co., Ohio, enumerated 10 January 1920, as 62 yo munitions plant watchman Daniel & 55 yo wife Emma Moore.9
Census1930Daniel and Emma appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cass Twp., Hancock Co., Ohio, enumerated 25 April 1930, as 72 yo farm laborer Daniel W & 55 yo wife Emma E Moore.10
Death*Daniel died on 22 August 1931 in Mount Blanchard, Hancock Co., Ohio, at age 72, of cirrohsis of the liver.11,1,12
Burial*He was buried at McComb Union Cemetery in McComb, Hancock Co., Ohio. Find A Grave provides no headstone photo.1

Birth*Elizabeth, daughter of George Moore and Mary Ann Fox, was born in May 1862 in Ohio. Her middle name claimed to be Fox, which was her mother's maiden name, but none of the six sources at Ancestry or eight sources at FamilySearch support that name, or even the middle initial F.2,3
Census1870Elizabeth appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Union Twp., Hancock Co., Ohio in the household of her parents, George Moore and Mary Ann Fox, as 8 yo Elisabeth More.4

My preliminary research suggests their only child was Hazel Cora Stager (1891-1962, m. Cleal Giles Hissong 1912).5,3,6
Census1900*Elizabeth and Simon appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Allen Co., Ohio, enumerated 18 June 1900, as 42 yo farmer Simon & 38 yo wife Elizabeth Stager. Their 9 yo daughter Cora H Stager was listed as living with them.3

Death*Elizabeth died in 1921.2,9,10,6
Burial*She was buried at Tawa Cemetery in Benton Ridge, Hancock Co., Ohio. Find A Grave provides headstone photo. No explanation for why her headstone says Moore instead of Stager. Both she and Simon are buried at Tawa.2
