My preliminary research suggests their children were, Hugh Murray Bartlett (c1841- ), Margaret E Bartlett (1844-1919), Flora M Bartlett (1848-1873), Augustus O Bartlett (1850-1855), Jacob M Bartlett (1853-1859), and Mary Belle Bartlett (1855-1869). Sarah is HOH with column 11, 'widowed/divorced' marked. This doesn't jive with Find A Grave's claim her husband William died in 1883. William's tombstone photo seems to bear out the 1883 date. What's going on here? I've no doubt this is our Sarah.6 |
Census1900 | Sarah appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Chesterville, Morrow Co., Ohio, enumerated 1 June 1900, as 81 yo widow Sarah Bartlett.7 |

Nancy E. Winship1
F, #8768, b. circa 27 August 1816, d. 30 November 1840
Birth* | Nancy, daughter of Winn Winship and Elizabeth "Betsey" Bartlett, was born circa 27 August 1816 in Ohio. Her headstone says died 30 Nov 1840 at age 34y 3m 3d which works out to birth ca. 27 Aug 1806. Two issues make this date suspect. First her parents were clearly married in 1811. The other is her age of 20-29 in the 1840 census. My guess is the headstone should read 24y and the year of birth is 1816, not 1806.2 |
Marriage* | She married Lucian Davison Griggs on 4 September 1838 in Clinton Co., Indiana. Issue per Find A Grave was Thomas Jefferson Griggs. Lucian m2 Mary Townsend Kirk and had Lewis Theodore, Nathan Kirk, and Mary Lucian Griggs. There's an unnamed female <5 yo in the 1840 census who may have been a daughter.3,4 |
Census1840 | Nancy is probably the female age 20 to 29 listed in the household of her husband, Lucian Davison Griggs, in the 1840 Federal Census of Otter Creek Twp., Ripley Co., Indiana.5 |
Death* | Nancy died on 30 November 1840 in Mulberry, Clinton Co., Indiana.2 |
Burial* | She was buried at Providence Cemetery in Mulberry, Clinton Co., Indiana. Headstone photo available at Find A Grave.2 |

Max Joseph Becker1
M, #8777, b. 20 June 1828, d. 23 August 1896
Birth* | Max was born on 20 June 1828 in Coblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The 1860 says born Prussia. Wikipedia says Coblenz, Germany. Coblenz is at the confluence of the Rhine & Moselle so it's definitely not Prussia.2,3 |

My preliminary research suggests their children were, Martha Becker (c1857- , m. Death* | Max died on 23 August 1896 at age 68.2 |
BioNote* | Biography Note of 29 June 2018: Max was a rather famous civil engineer, designing mostly bridges and railroads. There's a fine bio in Wikipedia including a photo. Unfortunately nothing about his wife and family.2 |

Birth* | Infant, son of John C. Andereck and Martha L. Meek, was born circa 1888. The Smith-Warner tree at Ancestry and FamilySearch's tree ID no. L82L-QHQ both claim his name was Morton, that he was born 04 Dec 1888 and died 09 Dec 1888. Neither provides a source for any of the claims. |

David Fredrick Lindamood1
M, #8782, b. 30 May 1855, d. 20 July 1924
Birth* | David, son of William Lindamood and Elizabeth Helsley, was born on 30 May 1855 in Shenandoah Co., Virginia. BVS Birth Records says 30 May 1855. Death Records says 29 May 1854 as does Find A Grave, but there's no headstone photo so no telling where that date came from. BVS Birth Records being closer to the fact I'm going with it.2,1,3 |
Census1860 | David appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Hamburg Dist., Shenandoah Co., Virginia in the household of his parents, William Lindamood and Elizabeth Helsley, as 5 yo David Lindamood.4 |
Census1870* | David appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Ashby Twp., Shenandoah Co., Virginia, as 15 yo David F Lindamood in the household of 67 yo Mary Lindamood. Note there was a 65 yo Mary Lindamood living with David and his parents in the 1860 census. David's father William's mother was Mary Lnu Lindamood. This woman likely David's grandmother. David's parents are nowhere to be found in the 1870 census suggesting they have both died.5 |
Marriage* | He married Laura Jane Boehm in 1880. VA Compiled Marriages claims 29 Apr 1880 but that doesn't work with Laura being single and living with her parents in the June 1880 census. In the 1900 census they show married 20 years. In the 1910 they show married 30 years. So marriage in 1880 seems correct. The April date is suspect.6,3 |
Census1900* | David and Laura appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Roanoke 3rd Ward, Virginia, enumerated 1 June 1900, as 42 yo machinist D F & 38 yo wife Laura J Lindamood. Their children 19 yo William C, 17 yo Roy S, 15 yo Gordon L, 12 yo Joseph, 12 yo Edw'd E, 1 yo Elwin and 4 yo daughter Claude B Lindamood were listed as living with them.7 |
Census1910 | David and Laura appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Roanoke Kimball Ward, Virginia, enumerated 28 April 1910, as 52 yo machinist David F & 48 yo wife Laura J Lindamood. Death* | David died on 20 July 1924 in Roanoke, Virginia, at age 69, of chronic myocarditis.1,3 |
Burial* | He was buried at Fair View Cemetery in Roanoke, Virginia. Find A Grave provides no headstone photo.3 |

Birth* | Laura was born on 20 June 1861 in Edinburg, Shenandoah Co., Virginia, d/o Samuel & Frances Boehm.2 |
Census1880* | Laura appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Madison Twp., Shenandoah Co., Virginia, as 19 yo single daughter Laura Boehm in the household of her parents 61 yo Samuel & 54 yo Francis Boehm. Why is she single in June when she allegedly married Lindamood in April?.3 |
Marriage* | She married David Fredrick Lindamood, son of William Lindamood and Elizabeth Helsley, in 1880. VA Compiled Marriages claims 29 Apr 1880 but that doesn't work with Laura being single and living with her parents in the June 1880 census. In the 1900 census they show married 20 years. Benjamin H. Lapp1
M, #8784, b. 4 February 1826, d. 13 February 1897
Birth* | Benjamin was born on 4 February 1826 in Welland Co., Ontario, Canada, s/o Samuel Lapp and Esther Hershey.1 |
Marriage* | He married Nancy Weatherholt on 18 January 1880 at at the bride's residence in Knox Co., Missouri. Ben had m1 Mariah Brubacker. Find A Grave claims 1881 for the marriage to Nancy but MO Marriage Records provides the date I've shown. A witness John Heaston was present, likely Nancy's brother-in-law from her m1 to Methuselah Heistand. My preliminary research suggests Ben's m1 children were Elias, Nathaniel, Emanuel, Naomi, Benjamin F, Anna & Samuel Lapp, all of whom have Find A Grave memorials.2,3 |
Census1880 | Benjamin and Nancy appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Taylor Twp., Shelby Co., Missouri, enumerated circa 18 June 1880, as 54 yo farmer Benjamin & 54 yo Nancy Lapp. Benjamin's 14 yo son (from his m1) Benjamin Lapp was listed as living with them, as well as one boarder.4 |
