In the 1921 Wilmington city directory Mary Ella is listed as Mrs. Ella M Dayett, living on W. 9th St. Elwood is listed as Ellwood W Dayett, living on W. 8th St.
The marriage license was probably dated the 19th as there's another marriage record showing that date.

Their 14 yo daughter Elizabeth W Dayett was listed as living with them as well as two sisters-in-law and two boarders.10

Jonathan Fadeley1,2

M, #7078, b. 1807
Last Edited7 Jun 2023
Birth*Jonathan was born in 1807, s/o Jacob & Sarah Fadeley.1,2
Marriage*His first marriage was to Catherine Seix on 16 August 1831 at Shenandoah Co., Virginia. Find A Grave claims another son of Jonathan and Catherine : William Lafayette Fadeley, 1824-1861, Find A Grave Memorial no. 143451320, m. Anna Maria Mumaw Dellinger 1849. This makes little sense given Jno & Catherine were married in 1831.3
Census1840*Jonathan appeared on the 1840 Federal Census of Shenandoah Co., Virginia, with a household listed as 210001-200001 as 30-39 yo Jonathan Fadely.4
Census1850*Jonathan and Catherine appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Dist. 58, Shenandoah Co., Virginia, enumerated 21 September 1850, as 43 yo joiner Jonathan & 43 yo Catharine Fadeley. Their children Raphael, Leannah, Emeline, Isaac Phinehas, William L., Amanda Elizabeth, David Dillman and John H. were listed as living with them.5
Census1860Jonathan and Catherine appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Strasburg Dist., Shenandoah Co., Virginia, enumerated 18 October 1860, as 52 yo farmer Jonathan & 52 yo Catherine Fadeley. Their children Raphael, William L., Emeline, Amanda Elizabeth, David Dillman and John H. were listed as living with them. This is another of those freak enumerations where the parents are on one page and the children are 187 pages away! The note on the parents' page reads, "For other members of this family see top of page 609". On the childrens' page it reads, "For other members of this family see bottom of page 796". The parents are in Strasburg District enumerated 18 Oct, the kids are in Lantz Mill District enumerated 23 Oct. Go figure.6,7
Marriage*Their second marriage was to Sybilla "Sylvia" Helsley, daughter of Frederick Helsley and Elizabeth Andrick, on 28 January 1866 at home of Abraham Strickler, Shenandoah Co., Virginia. License issued same day. Jonathan was a widower, Sylvia was single.1,8,9
Census1870*Jonathan and Sybilla appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Madison Twp., Shenandoah Co., Virginia, enumerated 12 July 1870, as 63 yo joiner Jonathan & 42 yo Civilia Fadeley. Their children Emeline, Amanda Elizabeth, Julia Alice, Mary E., Uriah Jonathan and Salome were listed as living with them.10
