Birth*Thomas, son of Thomas Leatherberry and Lydia Dudley, was born circa 1779 in Maryland, date estimated and location inferred.1
Census1790Thomas is probably one of the three males under age 16 listed in the household of Thomas Leatherberry, in the 1790 Federal Census of Queen Anne's Co., Maryland.2
Estate-WillThomas was named an heir in the will of Thomas Leatherberry, his father, dated 3 April 1794 at Queen Anne's Co., Maryland, receiving land.1
Milit-Service*Thomas Leatherberry served as a private with Captain Burke's Company during the War of 1812 ca. 1812 to 1815. His widow Mary filed an application for widow's pension based on his service.3
Marriage*He married Mary Forwood on 20 May 1812 in Baltimore Co., Maryland.4
Census1830*Thomas appeared on the 1830 Federal Census of Switzerland Co., Indiana, with a household listed as 1200001-1021001, as 40-49 yo Thomas Leatherberry. Mary is likely one bracket too old. We don't know birth order of daughters Mary Jane, Elizabeth and Caroline. I'm guessing Mary Jane is the oldest. There is one more male in the 5-9 bracket than I can currently account for.5
Estate-Will*Thomas Leatherberry left a will dated 12 May 1831 at Switzerland Co., Indiana, naming no executor. Named heirs included his wife Mary and children Martha, Elizabeth, Caroline, Eley John Thomas, Jacob Forwood, Mary Jane and Parthena.
Text of the Will of Thomas Leatherberry:
I Thomas Leatherbery of Switzerland County
and State of Indiana being weak in body but sound
in mind, revoking all others, make and ordain
this my last Will and testament. I give all my real
and personal property to my wife Mary Leatherbery dur-
ing her lifetime. After the death of my wife I give
to my daughter Martha Leatherbery twenty five acres
off the west end of my tract which twenty
five acres is to be all her portion of my estate. The
balance of my property real and personal, at the
death of my wife I give in equal shares to my child-
ren Elizabeth, Caroline, Eley? John Thomas, Jacob For-
wood, Mary Jane, and Perthena Leatherbery.
               Thomas Leatherbery (seal)
signed sealed and delivered in the
presence of the witnesses below as
the last Will and testament of the said
Thomas Leatherbery this twelfth day of
May AD one thousand eight hundred
thirty one.     Test. James Porter
          Test. Samuel Forwood

I made a transcrip of the will and associated remark by the County Clerk in 2022 and will make a copy available if you email me.6
Death*Thomas died in 1846 in Vevay, Switzerland Co., Indiana.7
Estate-Probate*Thomas's will was probated at Switzerland Co., Indiana, on 23 October 1846.6

Birth*Alvin, son of Adoniram Bartlett Jr. and Anna Russell, was born on 5 March 1819 in Conway, Franklin Co., Massachusetts.3,4,1
Census1820Alvin is probably one of the two males under age 10 listed in the household of his father, Adoniram Bartlett Jr., in the 1820 Federal Census of Conway, Franklin Co., Massachusetts.5
Census1830Alvin is probably the male age 10 to 14 listed in the household of his father, Adoniram Bartlett Jr., in the 1830 Federal Census of Conway, Franklin Co., Massachusetts.6
ResearchNote*Research Note of 10 December 2024 re leads for his spouses and children.
There's an Alvin L Bartlett who m1 Emily C Lnu and had issue Harriette who m. Franklin F Allen and had issue Alice, Louis, Franklin and Harriet.
This same Alvin L Bartlett apparently m2 Jane L Cathey and had issue Martha, Priscilla, Cornelia and William.
I don't think this Alvin is our man but it's possible. The Harriette who m. Allen doesn't show up in her father Alvin's administration papers of 1858. Whole thing needs more work.
