Census1900	Emma appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Justice Pct. 7, Coleman Co., Texas in the household of her parents, William Albert Lowe and Frances Harriet "Fannie" Turner, as 11 yo daughter Emmie L Lowe.6
Marriage*	She married Samuel Columbus Douglass circa December 1909. My preliminary research suggests their children were William Edward (1910-1984), Victor Hearon (1911-2009, m. Elizabeth Wayman Robinson 1937), Roberta Barbara (1913-2009, m. Clarence Stanley Ten Eyke 1936), Virginia (1916-1990, m. Jerre Leslie Riordan 1941), Samuel Columbus Jr (1919-2004), Mary Carol (1923-2018, m. Norman Lindsey Casner Jr), and James Gordon Douglass (1929-1929).      Secondary sources for this marriage are abundant. Birth records for their children Roberta, Virginia, Samuel and James all mention Sam & Emma by name. Emma's death certificate shows her surname as Douglass. Finally Sam's WWI draft card shows Emmy Lara Douglass as his nearest relative. Find A Grave has memorials for the following children, all of whom I've found in one or more censuses: namely, William Edward, Victor Hearon, Roberta Barbara, Virginia, Samuel Thomas, Mary Carol and James Gordon Douglass. They'd been married 0.4 years in the 1910 census.7,1,8

The widow of the late E.C. Lowe, longtime owner, publisher and editor of THE LOMETA REPORTER, Mrs. Lowe was the mother of the late Ward Lowe, one of the founders of THE LAMPASAS DISPATCH and later longtime editor and publisher of THE LAMPASAS DISPATCH and THE LAMPASAS RECORD, which merged in recent years into the LAMPASAS DISPATCH RECORD. Born June 18, 1892, in Sidney, Texas, Mrs. Lowe married E.C. Lowe Dec. 4, 1915, in Blanket, Texas. Mrs. Lowe had been a Lampasas County resident since 1934.9

Birth*	Phebe was born from 1781 to 1790. The 1830 and 1840 censuses agree on a date range of 1781 to 1790. Sheffield claims a plausible date of 16 Apr 1787 in New Jersey. Find A Grave's date of Aug 1757 is nonsense.2,3
Marriage*	She married Richard B. Downey, son of James Downey Sr. and Mary Seborn, on 17 November 1809 in Hamilton Co., Ohio.1
Move	Phebe and Richard moved their residence from Ohio to Rising Sun, Ohio Co., Indiana in 1818.4
Census1820	Phebe is probably the female age 26 to 44 listed in the household of her husband, Richard B. Downey, in the 1820 Federal Census of Randolph, Dearborn (now Ohio) Co., Indiana.5
Census1830	Phebe is probably the female age 40 to 49 listed in the household of her husband, Richard B. Downey, in the 1830 Federal Census of Union Twp., Dearborn Co., Indiana, two.2
Census1840	Phebe is probably the female age 50 to 59 listed in the household of her husband, Richard B. Downey, in the 1840 Federal Census of Dearborn (now Ohio) Co., Indiana.3
Death*	Phebe died from 1 June 1840 to 23 December 1841. Death date range calculated from birth range plus "54y 17d" is 1835 to 1844. Phebe was around in the 1840 census, so say 1840-1844. Richard m2 Sarah Dennis 23 Dec 1841 and it's a near certainty he didn't divorce Phebe so final death date range is bracketed by the 1840 census and Richard's m2. Find A Grave's death date of Aug 1811 makes no sense. Likely a typo or misread for 1841.6,7

Census1820	John is probably one of the two males under age 10 listed in the household of his father, Richard B. Downey, in the 1820 Federal Census of Randolph, Dearborn (now Ohio) Co., Indiana.4
Marriage*	His first marriage was to Sarah Gibson on 4 February 1830 at Dearborn Co., Indiana. License date was 04 January. Thomas claims marriage date was 04 Feb 1839. He also claims thirteen children from this marriage though the census record only supports six..5,3

Census1840	John appeared on the 1840 Federal Census of Dearborn Co., Indiana, with a household listed as 11001-10001 as 20-29 yo John Downey. His wife Sarah and children Richard, Lavina and Amos were living with him. The 1840 census started on 1 June but extended for 18 months. Since Amos appears to be the son <5 and we believe he was born 10 Oct I feel this enumeration probably took place between October '40 and October '41.7
Census1850	John and Sarah appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Shelby Twp., Ripley Co., Indiana, enumerated 11 September 1850, as 37 yo farmer John & 37 yo Sarah Downey. Their children Richard, Lovina, Amos, Simon, Sarah J. and Rachel were listed as living with them.8
Census1860*	John and Sarah appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Otter Creek Twp., Ripley Co., Indiana, enumerated 28 July 1860, as 47 yo farmer John & 47 yo Sarah Downey. Their children Simon, Sarah J. and Rachel were listed as living with them. Household also included a domestic Margaret J. Graver (or Traver.)9

Marriage*	His second marriage was to Sarah Ann Davis circa May 1880. John's m1 Sarah Gibson died 4 Mar 1880. His wife's name is again Sarah in the 1880 census of 01 June. Conclusion he marriaed Sarah Ann Davis Young sometime between 4 March and 1 June 1880. Find A Grave reports only 1880. Sarah had previously m1 Abraham D. Allen (1813- 1867) April 24, 1851 in Vigo County, IN. She m2 James Davidson Young (1815-1877) January 6, 1871 in Vigo County, IN. John Downey was her m3.11
Census1880	John and Sarah appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Big Spring Twp., Shelby Co., Illinois, enumerated 1 June 1880, as 67 yo John & 66 yo Sarah Downey. Their daughter Rachel was listed as living with them, as well as Rachel's husband George and two daughters, Luella and Angeline. Son Richard and his family live next door above. Sarah's age is off by about 20 years.12

I've been unable to find supporting evidence. Date listed here is from the 1900 census in which they'd been married 39 years.5
