Birth*Rebecca, daughter of Thomas Marks, was born circa 1760, assuming 18 yo at time of marriage to William Mackey Sr.1
Marriage*She married William Mackey Sr., son of Daniel Mackey and Hope Lnu, circa 1778 in Southampton Co., Virginia, date assumed from estimated birthyear of first child listed in Doughtie. Doughtie continues, "The loss of the court records in Wilkinson Co. make it impossible to establish the number of chn. living at the death of Wm. Mackey, Sr. or the amount of his estate."
     Ancesty lists four issue as follows: Amelia (1788-1870, m. Robert Etheridge w/ 10 issue), Hopie (1775-1852, m. Meret Etheridge w/ 9 issue), Nancy (1786-1840, m. Robert Ridley w/ 2 issue), and William Mackey (1794-1860, m. Sinia McCrannie w/ 8 issue).3,1
Death*Rebecca died after 1789. Their son, Wm Jr, was born in 1789.1
Move*Rebecca and William moved their residence from Southampton Co., Virginia to Georgia between 1791 and 1803. Family tradition is that they first stopped in South Carolina on the way from Virginia to Georgia. The latter date is based on fact William was involved with land lotteries as early as 1803.3
ChurchWilliam and Rebecca and William were early members of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Wilkinson Co., Georgia, circa 1810.3
LandOther*1820 at Wilkinson Co., Georgia, Rebecca drew land in Early County in the 'Land Lottery of 1820'. Doughtie does not provide original citation for this event.3
Census1820*Rebecca appeared on the 1820 Federal Census of Wilkinson Co., Georgia, with a household listed as 000110-00101. None of her known children quite match with currently estimated birth years. Son William is one door prior in the enumeration, and Robert Ridley, husband of her daughter Nancy, is two doors prior.4
