Birth*Calvin, son of Emanuel Garmong and Rebecca Shipe, was born circa 1835. Garmong-Shipe places Calvin number two in the birth order of the children. Prior to this report we didn't show Calvin in the family. He doesn't show up in any of the censuses which named names. However, there is an extra male in the 5-to-9 year old slot in the 1840 Census. This is only one year strong for Calvin, assuming the 1836 birth year is correct. Death in 1849 fits with no known Census records. G-S cites Oakey and family Bible records for Calvin.1
Census1840Calvin is probably one of the two males age 5 to 9 listed in the household of his father, Emanuel Garmong, in the 1840 Federal Census of Clarke Co., Virginia.3
Death*Calvin died in 1849.1

Birth*Blanche, daughter of Richard H. Garmong and Rhoda Jane Williams, was born in October 1886 in Indiana.3,4
Census1900Blanche appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana in the household of her parents, Richard H. Garmong and Rhoda Jane Williams, as 13 yo daughter Blanch Garmong.5
Marriage*Her first marriage was to Gustave Drussell on 16 April 1904 at Vigo Co., Indiana. WPA cites Book 17, p. 400.6,1
Census1910*Blanche and Gustave appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana, enumerated 15 April 1910, as 28 yo glass blower Gus & 23 yo wife Blanche Drussell. Their daughter Leona was listed as living with them, as well as Gustave's brother Ed Drussell.7
Census1920Blanche appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of 1473 8th St., Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana, as 33 yo sister-in-law Blanche Drussell in the household of her sister & brother-in-law John E. Wilkins and Beulah Olive Garmong; as 30 yo railroad accountant John D & 30 yo wife Beulah O Wilkins.8
Census1930Blanche and Gustave appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 1605 Central Ave., enumerated 8 April 1930, as 44 yo confectionary proprietor Gustav & 43 yo wife Blanche Drussell.9
Census1940Blanche and Gustave appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Elbridge Twp., Edgar Co., Illinois, enumerated 18 April 1940, as 49 yo Blanche & 55 yo husband Juston Drussell. Also in the home was 34 yo lodger and future husband Ora Rogers.10
ResearchNote*Research Note of 30 June 2017 re 1940 census. The 1940 is a most interesting census. Blanche is listed as head of household with Gustav below as husband. Then there's a lodger named Ora Rogers, 34 yo, born Illinois. Blanche's Find A Grave entry shows her as Blanche Garmong Rogers. Both Gus & Blanche are buried at Highland Lawn. There's also Ora Rogers (1905-1980) and Ora May Rogers (1895-1941). Perhaps Ora & Ora May were married, then after both spouses died Ora and Blanche were married. This doesn't quite work with Ora living with Blanche & Gus in the 1940 census however. Ora May's headstone reads 'mother' but she's too young to have been Ora's mother.10

Marriage*Her second marriage was to Ora Rogers after April 1951. Blanche Garmong Rogers in Find A Grave, presumably married Ora Rogers sometime after Gustave died. I find no record for this marriage in Indiana Marriages. Blanche is mentioned in brother Otis's obituary as Mrs. Ora Rogers.11,4
Residence*Blanche resided in Roanoke Rapids, Halifax Co., North Carolina, on 12 January 1956, being listed as Mrs. Ora Roberts in her brother Otis's obituary.11
Death*Blanche died in 1968.4
Burial*She was buried at Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana, Section 14. Headstone photo available at Find A Grave.4
