M. Riley Mackey1
M, #3666, b. 11 November 1828
Birth* | M., son of William Mackey Jr. and Sina McCranie, was born on 11 November 1828.2 |
ResearchNote* | Research Note re a Mackey mess! On p. 143, in her listing of the children of John Calloway Mackey, she names James Allen Mackey, who married "Lucy Agnes Mackey, his cou. a dtr. of Riley Mackey, Neph. of John C. Mackey." John C. had only four brothers: Joseph, Jesse, M.R. and William F. The issue, if any, of Joseph, Jesse and William are covered elsewhere in the text leaving only M.R. as the possible "Riley Mackey". The only conclusion that fits, IF Doughtie is correct, then Lucy Agnes is M. Riley Mackey's daughter. But this makes no sense if he was born in 1828. Doughtie also writes that M.R. probably married Anna who died 1867, and that Miles Riley Mackey (3112) was his son. Our evidence says that Miles Riley was son of William F. and that's how we'll leave things pending more research.3 |
