ResearchNote*Research Note of 5 June 2022 re possible marriages. A George Johnson Downey who may be this person m1 Elizabeth Vandusen 1837 and had issue Erastus S, Rufus K, Susana S, Adelmore Bruce, Eliza A and Catherin Anabelle. He perhaps m2 Susan Silvers 1854 in Switzerland Co. He definitely next married Maria Jane Wisner 1857 in Ohio Co, IN, and had issue Christina, Mary, Harris, Alexander, Irene J "Ellie", Edwin C and Lydia. I have found no primary source linking the George shown above with the one who was son of John & Suanna Selwood Downey.
The 1840-1900 censuses support all of the above names. There are marriage records at Ancestry for all three marriages. Son Erastus and m2/3 Mary Jane Wisner have Find A Grave memorials.
