Last Edited6 Mar 2023
Birth*Etta was born in 1914, probably d/o J C & Adaline Register. There is a 6 yo daughter Etta Register in the 1920 census in home of J C & Adaline in Reedy Springs, Laurens Co.2
Marriage*She married Thomas Daniel "Tom" Wyatt, son of James Hardy Wyatt and Lula Vann, circa 1930. In the 1930 census Tom's age is 20 yo and his age when married is 20 yo. Etta's also match with age 16 yo. Tom's WWII draft card lists his wife as Mrs. Ettie Udel Wyatt.3,4,1
Census1930*Etta and Thomas appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cadwell 1682nd GMD, Laurens Co., Georgia, as married couple 20 yo unemployed Tom & 16 yo Etta Wyatt in the household of 24 yo Arthur and 20 yo Robbie Register. This enumeration is the only evidence I've found which might support the surname Register for Etta. Arthur may well be a brother.4
Residence*Etta and Thomas resided at 464 Edgewood Ave. in Macon, Bibb Co., Georgia, in 1955.5
Death*Etta died on 29 October 1989 in Colquitt Co., Georgia.2

MotherAnnie E. Dixon2 b. 5 Mar 1892, d. 28 Dec 1925
Last Edited15 Mar 2024
Birth*Sunobie, daughter of William Augustus Fountain and Annie E. Dixon, was born on 20 September 1914 in Laurens Co., Georgia.2
Marriage*She married James Troy Wyatt, son of James Hardy Wyatt and Lula Vann, on 7 March 1936 in Laurens Co., Georgia. This date per Find A Grave. I've not found a primary source yet. On his WWII draft card Troy lists his wife as Mrs. Nobie F Wyatt. My preliminary research suggests their children were Hazel (c1938- ), Jean (1936-1936), Joyce (1936-1936), June (1936-1936), James Billy (1940-1999), and Willie Lester (1942-2008) Wyatt. All but Hazel have Find A Grave memorials.1,3
Census1940*Sunobie and James appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Dublin 342nd GMD, Laurens Co., Georgia, enumerated 26 April 1940, as 24 yo farm operator James Troy & 23 yo housekeeper wife Nobie Wyatt. Their children 2 yo Hazel and 0.1 yo Billie James Wyatt were listed as living with them, as well as 54 yo widowed mother Louwia (Lula) Wyatt. Lula seems to be enumerated twice as she's clearly with daughter Reva and her husband Walter Evans.4
Death*Sunobie died on 10 April 1996 in Laurens Co., Georgia, at age 81. A note added to her Find A Grave memorial reads, Nobie passed on the evening of 10 April 1996, thus the date on the headstone, but since this wasn't discovered until the next morning, on her death certificate will show 11 April 1996.2
Burial*She was buried at Bluewater Baptist Church Cemetery in Dublin, Laurens Co., Georgia. Headstone photo is available at Find A Grave.2

Birth*Walter was born on 14 June 1908.2

Census1940*Walter and Reva appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Erich's 1450th GMD, Wheeler Co., Georgia, enumerated 16 April 1940, as 32 yo farmer Walter W & 23 yo Reva F Evans. Marriage*She married Arthur Leonard "Buddy" Wyatt, son of James Hardy Wyatt and Lula Vann, before 20 April 1940. My preliminary research suggests their children Shirley (c1938-a1977, m. Fnu Lyles), Leonard Lynelle ( -a1977), Johnny ( -a1977), Patricia ( -a1977, m. Fnu Lyles), and Carol ( -a1977, m. Fnu Spindle) Wyatt. Thelma was presumably the mother of all of these children.3,4,5
Census1940*Thelma and Arthur appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Dublin 342nd GMD, Laurens Co., Georgia, enumerated 20 April 1940, as 21 yo farm laborer Arthur & 17 yo wife Velma Wyatt. Their 1 yo daughter Shirley was listed as living with them.4
Marr-Divorce*Thelma was divorced from Arthur Leonard "Buddy" Wyatt at Citrus Co., Florida, on 19 January 1972. Thelma later married Buck Wallace and Albert Richard Incendario, though who came first is unclear.3

Census1880*Matilda and Preston appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Clay Twp., Dearborn Co., Indiana, as 28 yo servant farmer Preston & 25 yo servant housekeeper Matilda Weathers in the household of Aron & Jane B Purcell.5
Marriage*Her first marriage was to William Carnine on 29 December 1883 at Indiana.6,7
Census1900*Matilda appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cass Twp., Ohio Co., Indiana, enumerated 18 June 1900, as 50 yo widow Matilda Carnine. Then it gets weird. Living with her are 49 yo widower brother James, 15 yo niece Matilda, and 14 yo niece Anabell Carnine. Most likely James is really her brother-in-law. This is almost certainly our Matilda as her birth is listed as April 1850 in Indiana.8
Marriage*Her second marriage was to David Elmer Young on 11 October 1908 at Cozad, Dawson Co., Nebraska.7
ResearchNote*Research Note of 19 February 2021 re divorce. I've been unable to find a divorce record for Matilda and David Young but the sources suggest it happened shortly after their marriage in 1908. In the 1910 census she's solo HOH and calls herself divorced. She uses the Carnine surname in later records, most importantly on her gravestone.1,6

Census1910Matilda appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Fairview Twp., Dawson Co., Nebraska, as 59 yo divorced sister Matilda Carmine in the household of Preston Charles Weathers; as 58 yo widower farmer Preston C Weathers.9

William Irving Weathers1

FatherWilliam Wethers1 b. bt 1808 - 1810
MotherMary Downey1 b. bt 1821 - 1825
Last Edited8 Apr 2023
Birth*William, son of William Wethers and Mary Downey, was born in 1852 in Indiana. Sources disagree on William's name. Find A Grave shows him as William I Weathers and the included headstone supports that name. Generally the sources just call him William but there are at least two which have him as William I Weathers - the 1910 census & son George's 1914 marriage record. Lewis & Melling Family Tree, on the other hand, calls him William "Will" Wesley Weathers, claiming 17 name sources. Only one of these sources shows the middle name Wesley. That is a marriage record for son Walter W Weathers. Walter's parents are given as William Wesley Weathers and Junettia Downey.2,1
Census1860William appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Brown Co., Indiana in the household of his parents, William Wethers and Mary Downey, as 8 yo William Wethers.1
Census1870William appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Cass Twp., Ohio Co., Indiana, as 8 yo William Wethers in the household of his brother Preston Charles Weathers; as 18 yo farmer Preston Wethers.3
Marriage*His first marriage was to Jeanette Elizabeth "Junettia" Lewis on 22 October 1877 at Rising Sun, Ohio Co., Indiana. My preliminary research suggests their children were Nellie May (1879-1952) and Walter Warren (1881-1956, m1 Arma Maybelle Brown, m2 Jessie Bell Montgomery Ryan) Weathers. Jeanette's children from her marriage to Crayton Richard Downey included Clara (1871-1960, m. John Wesley Fletcher) and Everett Charles (c1875- ) Downey.4
Census1880*William and Jeanette appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Clay Twp., Dearborn Co., Indiana, enumerated 9 June 1880, as 27 yo farmer William & 27 yo wife Juinnettie Weathers. Their children Nellie, Clara A. and Everett Crayton were listed as living with them. Clary & Everett are children of Jeanette's m1 to Crayton Downey.5
Marriage*His second marriage was to Jane Caroline Henderson on 3 May 1886 at Lawrenceburg, Dearborn Co., Indiana. My preliminary research suggests their children were Myrtis Sualo (1889-1969, m. George W Andrews 1914), Nettie Frances (1890-1988, m. Jacob Robert "Jackie" Bacon), and Robert C (1892-1900) Weathers.
Jane's m1 to M A Rouse produced at least the following children, Infant (1877-1877), Wymond Fleet (1878-1968), Emma Daisy (1880- ), and Mary Jane (1882-1959) Rouse.
Note Jane's name is Jane C Rouse in her marriage record with Weathers. Lewis and Melling Family Tree gives his name as Martin Albert Rouse (1852-1885) with a marriage date of 05 Feb 1876 in Ripley County. I find no sources supporting his full name, date or location.6
Census1900*William and Jane appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Indianapolis 3rd Ward, Marion Co., Indiana, enumerated 7 June 1900, as 47 yo car repairer William & 44 yo wife Jane Weathers. Their children 10 yo daughter Merkise Weathers, 9 yo Nettie Weathers, 20 yo Emma Rouse, and 18 yo Mary J Rouse were listed as living with them.7
Census1910William and Jane appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Indianapolis 15th Ward, Marion Co., Indiana, enumerated 16 April 1910, as 56 yo railroad car repairman William I & 54 yo wife Jane C Weathers. Their children 21 yo Myrtis and 20 yo Nettie Weathers were listed as living with them.8
Census1920William and Jane appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Center Twp., Grant Co., Indiana, enumerated 5 January 1920, as 65 yo drop forge laborer William & 63 yo wife Jane C Withers.9
Census1930*William appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Warren Twp., Marion Co., Indiana, as 77 yo married farm laborer father-in-law William Weathers in the household of his daughter Nettie & husband Jakie Bacon. William's wife Jane has been committed to the Marion County Insane Asylum and is enumerated there in 1930.10
Death*William died in 1935.2
Burial*He was buried at Peckham Cemetery, Lincoln Co., Nebraska. Headstone photo is available at Find A Grave.2
