Marriage*She married Alrich Ryland Pennington, son of Leonard Adkey Pennington and Martha Reyland, on 23 July 1826 in Delaware. DE Marriages has two dates: 23 Jul and 11 Aug. The earlier is the marriage and the latter presumably the minister's return. Marriage date confirmed by Susannah Vandegrift on p. 33 (taped) where she states specifically, Alrich R. Pennington was married to Maria Waithman (Widow of John Waithman) July 23rd 1826. She would have had no info on the minister's paperwork.3,1,4

Birth*Jacob, son of Alrich Ryland Pennington and Rebecca Vandegrift, was born between 1810 and 1813. Susannah Vandegrift's Ancestors writes, Jacob Alrich Pennington Son of Alrich and Rebecca his wife was born August 20th 1813. Find A Grave claims a birthdate of 01 Nov 1810. The headstone which Find A Grave claims is his does indeed show that date.1,3

Their son Joseph Ryland was listed as living with them, as well as brother Louden M Pennington and several other unknown persons.9 
Death*Jacob died on 22 February 1869.3 
Burial*He was buried at Old Saint Ann's Church Cemetery in Middletown, New Castle Co., Delaware. Find A Grave provides photo of his headstone which looks to be identical in materials and font to his wife Mary Jane's headstone.3
