Marriage*He married Margaret Elizabeth Selsor, daughter of John Selsor and Mary Andrick, before 1833, date based on birthyear of eldest child listed by Find A Grave. Son Frederick the male 5-9 yo and daughter Mary one of the two females 5-9 yo. The male 10-14 yo is unknown as is the other female 5-9 yo.3

Birth*Mary was born on 2 November 1810, d/o William Rankin Jr and Elizabeth Popejoy.2
Marriage*She married Frederick Selsor, son of John Selsor and Mary Andrick, circa 1828. My preliminary research suggests their children were Elizabeth (c1830-1895, m.      In her father's will of 1854 Polly's father leaves $1,000 to his son-in-law Frederick Selsor for the use of him and his heirs.1,3

Isaac McHenry1

M, #5213, b. circa 8 June 1801, d. 17 July 1874
Last Edited18 May 2023
Birth*Isaac was born circa 8 June 1801 in Kentucky, s/o James McHenry. Aged 73y 1m 9d at death.2
Marriage*He married Christeney Selsor, daughter of John Selsor and Mary Andrick. My preliminary research suggests their children may have included William Houston (1825-1887, m. Sarah J Hornbeck 1848, 11 issue), Margaret S (1828-1862) and David H McHenry (1831-1859).1
ResearchNoteResearch Note re dearth of sources. I've found very little primary evidence for this couple online. The census record is confused. Another Isaac McHenry in the Ohio area at that time, married to Elizabeth Sedam, complicates things.

Death*Isaac died on 17 July 1874 in Paint Twp., Fayette Co., Ohio.2

Sinnet Rankin1

M, #5214, b. 7 July 1802, d. October 1868
Last Edited19 May 2023
Birth*Sinnet was born on 7 July 1802.2
Marriage*His first marriage was to Elizabeth Selsor, daughter of John Selsor and Mary Andrick, on 19 October 1826 at Madison Co., Ohio. My preliminary research suggests their children were Mary (c1825- , m. Thomas W Dawson bef. 1850 census), Jacob (1829-1885), William (c1831- ), Hugh Rankin (c1833-1843), Susan (c1836- , m. Boling bef. 1867) and Margaret Rankin (1838-1853).3,1
Census1830*Sinnet appeared on the 1830 Federal Census of Stokes Twp., Madison Co., Ohio, with a household listed as 1000101-10001 as 20-29 yo Sinnet Rankin. His wife Elizabeth Selsor is likely the female 20-29 yo, daughter Mary & son Jacob the two <5 yo. The male 40-49 yo is unknown.4
Census1840Sinnet appeared on the 1840 Federal Census of Paint Twp., Fayette Co., Ohio, with a household listed as 130001-201 as 30-39 yo Senate Rankin. His m1 Elizabeth Selsor has died and m2 Elizabeth Kerr won't be around for 8 more years. The six children in the home were likely 10-14 yo Mary, 5-9 yo Jacob, 5-9 yo William, 5-9 yo Hugh, <5 yo Susan and <5 yo Margaret Rankin.5
Marriage*His second marriage was to Elizabeth S. Kerr on 20 August 1848 at Jasper Co., Missouri. My preliminary research suggests their children were Caroline (c1849- , m. George Graham c1865), Sinnet Jr. (1851-1869), Ursula (c1855- ), Ellen (c1860- ), Rachel (c1860- ) and Elizabeth Rankin (c1864- , perhaps m. Emanuel Kirby).
I think it likely that Ellen and Rachel are the same person as Ellen is 0.1 yo in 1860 and Rachel is 10 yo in 1870 yet neither is in the other census.6
Census1850*Sinnet and Elizabeth appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Dist. 41, Jasper Co., Missouri, enumerated 17 October 1850, as 48 yo farmer Sinnet & 28 yo Elizabeth Rankin. Their children 21 yo Jacob, 19 yo William, 14 yo Susan, 11 yo Margaret and 1 yo Caroline Rankin were listed as living with them. Sinnet's 22 yo daughter is there (as Mary Dawson) with her 26 yo husband Thomas W Dawson. Others in the home were 52 yo Jacob Rankin (Sinnet's brother?), 6 yo Genira Duke and 4 yo Mary T Duke, likely children from Elizabeth's m1 to Fnu Duke.7
Census1860Sinnet and Elizabeth appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of North Fork, Jasper Co., Missouri, enumerated 27 June 1860, as 57 yo farmer Senate & 39 yo Elizabeth Rankin. Their children 10 yo Caroline, 9 yo Senate, 5 yo Ersula and 0.1 yo Ellen Rankin were listed as living with them.8
Estate-Will*Sinnet Rankin left a will dated 21 May 1866 at Jasper Co., Missouri, naming his wife Elizabeth as executor and sole heir during her widowhood. At her death or remarriage the estate was to be equally divided between his daughters Caroline, Ursula, Rachel, Elizabeth and son Sinnet. He had already given 'large sums of money and property' to his other children, namely Mary Dawson, Jacob & William Rankin, and Susan Boling.
The administrator's bond and related documents are in the same database but a different section - Bonds and Letters of Administrators, Executors, Guardians and Curators, Vol B, 1865-1876 - beginning at page 190 (image 131 of 324).9
Death*Sinnet died in October 1868 at age 66.2
Burial*He was buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Jasper, Jasper Co., Missouri. Find A Grave provides joint headstone photo with m2 Elizabeth Kerr Duke and son Sinnet.2
Estate-ProbateSinnet's will was filed and admitted to probate at Jasper Co., Missouri, on 12 February 1869. Affadavits attesting to the legitimacy of the will go on for five more pages (images 148-150), suggesting the will may have been contested.10
