Birth*	Sarah, daughter of J. David Mulford and Mary Jane Keist, was born circa September 1849 in Bellefontaine, Logan Co., Ohio. Her Find A Grave memorial is bizarre - the headstone reads 1849-1927 yet the memorial claims a birthdate of 05 Dec 1850. She's in the April 1850 census as a 7-month old. The December date is also in her obit in the Hartford Courant.2,3,4

Census1860	Sarah appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Wayne Twp., Kosciusko Co., Indiana in the household of her parents, J. David Mulford and Mary Jane Keist, as 11 yo Sarah Mulford.5
Marriage*	She married Sgt. Charles H. Tubbs on 12 December 1869 in Kosciusko Co., Indiana. My preliminary research suggests their children were Grace (1872- ), Mary Jane (1873- ), Jennie (1873- , m. Fnu Strange bef 1900 and had dau Ruth), Albert Henry (1875- , m. Ada D Davidson 1906), Charlotte May "Lottie" (1880- , m. Fnu Rose, res. Hartford 1927), and Bertha F Tubbs (1883-1929, m1 Fnu Lnu (div bef 1911), m2 DeWitt J Lane).      Both the 1900 & 1910 censuses show 5 born with 5 living so it seems one of these children she'd rather forget about. Charlotte doesn't show in either the 1880 or 1900 census but does have a birth record showing her parents as C H Tubbs & Sada Mulford.1,6,7,8

Their children 8 yo daughter Grace, 6 yo daughter Mary Jane, and 5 yo son Albert C Tubbs were listed as living with them.9
Census1900*	Sarah appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Center Twp., Grant Co., Indiana, at Marion PO, enumerated 2 June 1900, as 50 yo widowed dressmaker Sarrah Tubbs. Her children 22 yo widow daughter Jennie Strange, and 16 yo daughter Bertha F Tubbs were listed as living with her, as well as 2 yo granddaughter Ruth Strange.10
Census1910	Sarah appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Hartford, Hartford Co., Connecticut, enumerated 22 April 1910, as 61 yo widow Sarah M Tubbs. Her 27 yo divorced daughter Bertha Tubbs was listed as living with her.11
Census1920	Sarah appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Meriden, New Haven Co., Connecticut, as 70 yo widowed mother-in-law Sarah Tubbs in the household of her son-in-law & daughter De Witt J & Bertha F Lane.12
Death*	Sarah died on 24 January 1927 in Hartford, Hartford Co., Connecticut. The obit in Hartford Courant is odd - it says she leaves a husband. Hard to say what's going on with the Hale Collection entry for Sarah Mulford Tubbs. Two dates are mentioned, 22 Jan 1905 and 10 Apr 1905, but it doesn't identify the event(s).4,3,13

Census1910	Adam appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Hibbing, St. Louis Co., Minnesota, as 55 yo married lodger grocery & meat wholesaler & retailer Adam Mulford in the household of John A Healy, hotel keeper. His sons 30 yo Roy and 25 yo Harold are listed right above him, also as lodgers. The hotel is not named.11

Census1910	Charlotte and William appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, enumerated 16 April 1910, as 49 yo pulley factory moulder William & 49 yo wife Lotta Hettinger. Their 16 yo daughter Alga Hettinger was listed as living with them, as well as one lodger.11
Census1920	Charlotte and William appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, enumerated 12 March 1920, as 58 yo public school janitor William & 58 yo wife Lottie Hettinger. One roomer was listed as living with them.12
Death*	Charlotte died on 24 February 1925 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, of brain hemorrhage. Survivors included her sister Mrs. Sarah Tubbs of Hartford, CT, her husband, daughter and one grandchild.3
Burial*	She was buried at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. Headstone shows 1860, same as the death certificate, likely because it's the same informant.13

Milit-Service*	Sgt. Charles H. Tubbs served as a Private, later Sergeant, with Co. E, 193rd New York Infantry during the Civil War between 1865 and 1866. He enlisted at Auburn, NY on 01 Mar 1865 to serve three years as private. Promoted sergeant no date. He mustered out with the company on 18 Jan 1866 at Harper's Ferry, WV.4,1

Birth*	Caroline, daughter of J. David Mulford and Mary Jane Keist, was born on 7 April 1852. Her headstone reads, 'dau of D & J Mulford'. This is a bit speculative as Find A Grave is the only source I've been able to find. However her brother Adam and sister Ida May are buried in the same cemetery, in the town where her parents lived and her father died.1
Death*	Caroline died on 2 December 1859 at age 7.1
Burial*	She was buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Kosciusko Co., Indiana. Hheadstone photo is available at Find A Grave.1

Residence*	Nancy resided at 1171 Francis in Fort Wayne, Allen Co., Indiana, in 1914. It's a bit odd that this city directory shows Ella as a widow. The census records show 1880 as the last time the two of them lived together. But in 1900 they both claim married. In 1910 Adam still shows married but Ella is a widow. Perhaps she simply assumed he'd died by 1910. Ella's son Harold and wife Mary C Mulford live at the same address.10
Death*	Nancy died on 19 August 1915 in Kosciusko Co., Indiana, at age 58.2

Marriage*	She married Joseph D. Mulford, son of Russell Bigelow Mulford and Melissa B. Valentine, circa 1885. My preliminary research suggests their children were Allen Joseph (1886-1918), and Henry Mulford (1888-1942, m. Lillian Lnu). Married 15 years with 2 born & 2 living in 1900.4,2
Residence*	Hattie and Joseph resided in Pierce Co., Washington, on 1 April 1889. Their children 3 yo J A & 1 yo Henry Mulford were listed as living with them.5

ResearchNote*	Research Note of 19 March 2021 re research challenges. I've found no direct marriage record though the circumstantial evidence is compelling. They're together with their two sons in 1900 and 1910. Then comes WWI. I believe the record from the Spokane newspaper showing Joseph severely wounded is this man even though the middle initial is wrong. Post-war we no longer find Joe & Hattie living together. She shows up in 1920 and 1930 as HOH but Joe goes missing. I'd like to discover what happened to him from the end of WWI until his death.
Death*	Hattie died on 6 October 1936 in Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington, at age 74.3

Marriage*	She married Albert Henry Mulford, son of Russell Bigelow Mulford and Melissa B. Valentine, on 24 July 1911 in Beaver City, Furnas Co., Nebraska. My preliminary research suggests at least one child from Emma's m1 to Robeson, Ollie Robeson (m. Littie Johnson 1916 in IA).2

Date of 'after 04 Feb 1951' is based on the Texhoma Times article which reads in part, Ernest Hull, Ruth TeBeest and the Oscar Dahl family had Sunday dinner in the Ted TeBeest home. Ruth had a brother Theodore. Earnest & Ruth's headstones are a matched pair but I've not found any primary evidence for this marriage.1,3

Birth*	Beatrice was born on 30 November 1898. Her gravestone says 1901. The three censuses suggest 1898-1899. Her SSDI record says 30 Nov 1898 and that's the one I'm accepting.2,3
Marriage*	She married Earnest Edgar Hull, son of John C. Hull and Stella Mae Downey, on 1 October 1919 at Sanford Hotel in Liberal, Seward Co., Kansas. At the time of the wedding Earnest & Beatrice were both of Beaver Co., Oklahoma, Earnest living in Gray and Beatrice in Balco. My preliminary research suggests their only child was Leora B Hull (1923-2008), m. Franklin C Moore 1946 in Albuquerque.1

My preliminary research suggests their children Larry Dean (1942-1996, m. Geraldine Higgins 1964), SP5 David Ray (1944-2014, w/ US Army in Vietnam, m. Karen Mace 1967, of Benald, IL in 2009), Steven Eugene (1947-2012, m. Susan Hunt, of St. Francisville, IL in 2009), Richard (unk-a2008, m. Leslie Lnu, of Olney, IL in 2009), and Sandy Webster (unk-a2008, m. Lyman Harrington, of Lawrenceville, IL in 2009).      Both Ray & Harriet show married 7 years ago in the 1930 census of 12 Apr 1930.
