Susanna Chick(?)1

F, #11469, d. before 1800
Last Edited5 Mar 2025
Marriage*She married Francis King III, son of Francis King II, before 7 September 1796. King writes, Francis King III's wife before 1800 was named "Susanna" as suggested in a Cecil Co., Md. deed dated 7 Sept 1796 (Cecil Co., Md. Deed Book 19, p. 581). It noted that "Francis King and his wife Susanna, of Appoquinimink Hundred in New Castle Co., Del." sold for 30 pounds their interest in the land of Nathaniel Chick of Cecil Co., Md. Their interest was due to Susanna's being a daughter of one of the devisees named in Chickk's will which was written in Cecil Co., Md. on 8 Mar 1777.
My preliminary research suggests their children may have been,
Ann King ( m. Fnu Levirnge, res. NCC in 1832),
Rachel King (, m. Fnu Pugh, res. Cecil Co., MD 1832), and
Elizabeth King (c1785-1860, m. John Biddle Price, res. Cecil Co., MD 1832; had issue Lewis, Mary, Elizabeth (m. Thos Vandyke), David K, Thomas, John and William Price; see King ch. 47).1
Death*Susanna died before 1800.1

FatherMarinus Haughey3 b. c 1743/44, d. 12 Jul 1792
MotherRachel Lnu3 d. 10 Mar 1788
Last Edited6 Mar 2025
Birth*Joanna, daughter of Marinus Haughey and Rachel Lnu, was born, d/o Marinus. Marinus and m2 Margaret are mentioned in a land transaction in which Isaac is administrator de bonis non of the estate of Marinus, deceased, through his deceased wife & executrix Margaret. The document doesn't specifically say that Isaac is their son-in-law.2
Marriage*She married Isaac King, son of Francis King II, before 10 April 1794. King's writes,
"Isaac King married prior to 10 Apr 1794 to his cousin Joanna Haughey, dau. of Marinus Haughey (#152,21) and his wife Rachel (see CHAPTER 45 for data on them). Their marriage is known to have been prior to 10 Apr 1794 as on that date Isaac and Joanna were named as heirs of Marinus Haughey in a New Castle County, Delaware Chancery Case (
#R3) involving a petition to define the boundaries of her late father's land".
Isaac and Joanna were 1st cousins once removed.
My preliminary research suggests their children were definitely Francis King (1784-1806), and probably Isaac () and Rachel King (); their grandchildren, sons of Francis, were John King () and Francis King (b1806-a1814).3
Death*Joanna died after 24 May 1804, date based on Joanna being named in a land transaction this date.1
