Census1840Jane is probably the female age 5 to 9 listed in the household of her father, Reuben Wood Taylor, in the 1840 Federal Census of Ashfield, Franklin Co., Massachusetts.2 
Marriage*She married James T. Joy in 1852. My preliminary research suggests their children were Willard Joy (1855-1902, m. Marion Day), Charles H Joy (1858-1891), Edgar Joy (c1861-b1881?, he is in the 1870 census but namesake brother born 1881), Frank J Joy (1867-1943, m. Lena Bell Everett 1892), Frederick T Joy (1870-1955, m. Jessie Bradley Randall), and Edgar W Joy (1881-1891).
     The 1900 census shows 7 born with 3 living for Jane Mary. Assuming true there are two missing children from the above list.1

My preliminary research suggests their children were Henrietta (1890-b1900?) and Emily Gladys Bartlett (1890-1968, m1 Edward R Wirt, m2 Fontinelle Scott Carpenter aft 1940 census).2,3,1
