Isabella Robertson Briggs1,2

F, #9871, b. 11 May 1888, d. 4 October 1983
Last Edited14 Oct 2022
Birth*Isabella was born on 11 May 1888 in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland Unitary Authority, Northumberland, England, d/o Andrew Briggs & Mary Allen.1,3
Marriage*She married Henry Wilson Lilly, son of Daniel Linville Perkins Lilly and Elizabeth Frances Myers, on 22 May 1907 in Charleston, Coles Co., Illinois. My preliminary research suggests their children were Charles Andrew Lilly (1908-1974) and Mary Elizabeth Lilly (c1913- ). The IL County Marriages record is very poorly indexed. It gives Henry's name as Nelson but it's pretty clearly Wilson in the original. It shows his mother's name as Elizabeth Fingers but it's clearly Elizabeth F Myers. The 1910 census confirms married 2 years with 1 born and 1 living. In 1918 Isabella married William Cleveland Bandy.1,2,3
Census1910*Isabella and Henry appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Monte Vista, Rio Grande Co., Colorado, enumerated circa 9 May 1910, as 27 yo barber Wilson & 21 yo wife Isabella Lilly. Their 1 yo son Charles A Lilly was listed as living with them.4
Death*Isabella died on 4 October 1983 in Kern Co., California, at age 95.3
Burial*She was buried at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno, Fresno Co., California. Headstone photo is available at Find A Grave.3

Birth*Maud was born circa 1884 in Michigan. Both parents born in Canada.1,2
Marriage*She married Henry Wilson Lilly, son of Daniel Linville Perkins Lilly and Elizabeth Frances Myers, between 1911 and 1930. The 1930 census says age at first marriage was 26 yo for each of them. That matches well with Wilson's m1 to Isabella Briggs. Conclusion is that this is at least Maud's m2 also.1
Census1920*Maud and Henry appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, enumerated 23 January 1920, as 37 yo barber Wilson & 36 yo wife Maude Lilly.2

Blanche Irene Hill1

Last Edited29 Jul 2022
Birth*Blanche was born on 9 January 1890, d/o William David Hill & Effie Vionetta Curtis.2
Marriage*She married Earl M. Lilly, son of Daniel Linville Perkins Lilly and Elizabeth Frances Myers, before 5 June 1917. My preliminary research suggests their children were Robert Earl Lilly (1917-1994, m. Eva V Arnold 1941, of Tulsa 1973-1980), Gordon Leroy Lilly (1922-1992, m. Mariam L Williamson, of Fort Worth 1973-1980) and Laverne Irene Lilly (1924-b1994, m. Wesley T Collins 1945, of Spokane 1973-1980).3,4,5,1,6
Census1920*Blanche and Earl appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Liberty Pct., Richardson Co., Nebraska, enumerated 7 January 1920, as 29 yo farmer Earl M & 29 yo wife Blanche H Lilly. Their 2 yo son Cecil E Lilly was listed as living with them. How they get Cecil out of Robert is beyond me. Perhaps he has three given names, e.g. Cecil Robert Earl Lilly. He's 12 yo in the following census so there's no way this 'Cecil' isn't Robert. Earl owns his own farm and is not renting.7
Census1930Blanche and Earl appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Liberty Pct., Richardson Co., Nebraska, enumerated 4 April 1930, as 39 yo poultry farmer Earl M & 40 yo wife Blanche H Lilley. Their children 12 yo Robert E, 7 yo Gordon L and 6 yo La Laverne I Lilley were listed as living with them.8
Census1940Blanche and Earl appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Porter Pct., Richardson Co., Nebraska, enumerated 10 April 1940, as 49 yo farm operator Earl & 50 yo wife Blanche Lily. Their children 17 yo Gordon and 16 yo La Verne Lily were listed as living with them.9
Death*Blanche died on 2 April 1973 in Richardson Co., Nebraska, at age 83.2,6
Burial*She was buried at Steele Cemetery in Falls City, Richardson Co., Nebraska.2

Rose Ann "Rosanna" Smith1

F, #9875, b. 14 October 1851, d. 18 June 1920
Last Edited14 Oct 2022
Birth*Rose was born on 14 October 1851 in Coshocton Co., Ohio, d/o John Isaac Smith & Ruanna Hamilton.2
Marriage*She married Thomas White Myers, son of David A. Myers and Nancy White, on 14 June 1874 in Moultrie Co., Illinois. There are two IL Marriages records. One shows only Tom's name, the other both of their names. Find A Grave's year is 1875. Moultrie County seems plausible as their son Charles was born there in 1881. The 1900 & 1910 censuses confirm marriage year with 2 born and 1 living.3,4,1
Census1880*Rose and Thomas appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Milam, Macon Co., Illinois, enumerated 4 June 1880, as 27 yo farmer Thomas W & 29 yo wife Rosan Myres. Rosanna's brother 21 yo James E Smith was listed as living with them. He matches well with Rosanna's Find A Grave memorial which shows a brother James F Smith, born 1859.5
Census1900Rose and Thomas appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Garfield Twp., Custer Co., Nebraska, enumerated 6 July 1900, as 46 yo farmer Thomas W & 47 yo wife Rose A Meyers. Their son Charles D. was listed as living with them. Tom's brother George and his family live next door above.6
Census1910Rose and Thomas appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Broken Bow, Custer Co., Nebraska, enumerated 3 May 1910, as 59 yo ice wagon driver Thomas W & 61 yo wife Rosella Myers. Tom's brother George is on the same page as family 318.7
Census1920Rose and Thomas appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Broken Bow, Custer Co., Nebraska, enumerated 20 January 1920, as 69 yo Thomas W & 69 yo wife Rose A Myers.8
Death*Rose died on 18 June 1920 in Broken Bow, Custer Co., Nebraska, at age 68.2
Burial*She was buried at Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow, Custer Co., Nebraska. Joint headstone photo w/ Tom is available at Find A Grave, also a portrait of Tom & Rosanna.2

Birth*Ravenna, daughter of Dorton Daily Fleming and Sarah Jane Myers, was born on 17 February 1882 in Illinois. Cook Co Deaths says 17 Feb 1884. The 1900 census is more current and says Feb 1882 with a corresponding age of 18. I'll go with 1882 until something better comes along.3,4
Marriage*She married Henry Mandon Cox on 11 July 1898 in Putnam Co., Indiana. My preliminary research suggests their children were Fanny Blanche Cox (1899-1992, m. Fnu Nelson, of Miami, FL in 1924), Melvin Clarence Cox (1901- , of Chicago in 1924, widower in 1930), and Fred M Cox (1903- ).
Henry m2 Eva Pearl Maple (c1882- , m. 1913 in Ripley, MO) and had at least the following children - Riley (c1904- , m. Melba Mansberger 1944), Odel (c1906- ), Howard (c1910- ) and Edna (c1914- ) Cox. The six of them are enumerated in the 1920 census in Peach Orchard, Clay, Arkansas.
Ravenna never remarried, or at least had not through the 1940 census.1,5
Census1900*Ravenna and Henry appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, enumerated 4 June 1900, as 26 yo street car conductor Henry & 18 yo wife Ravenna Cox. Their 1 yo daughter Fanny B Cox was listed as living with them.3
Marr-Divorce*Ravenna was divorced from Henry Mandon Cox between 1900 and 1920. By the time of the 1920 census Ravenna has presumably divorced Henry, married Stewart, and been widowed by Stewart's death.3,6
Marriage*Her second marriage was to Fnu Stewart between 1900 and 1920. Ravenna is with her m1 Cox in the 1900 census and widowed with surname Stewart in the 1920 census.6
Census1920*Ravenna appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, as 35 yo roomer & widowed restaurant waitress Ravenna Stewart in the household of George & Jessie Johnson.6
Residence*Ravenna resided in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, on 25 August 1924, as Mrs. Ravina Blanchard, according to her father's obit. She's Stewart in 1920 and again in 1930. She wouldn't be the first to divorce, marry someone else, divorce again or get widowed, then remarry the first husband but it's a long shot. More likely the obit writer simply blew it.7
Census1930Ravenna appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, enumerated 19 April 1930, as 45 yo Ravenna Stewart. Her children 28 yo widower Melvin and 26 yo single Fred Cox were listed as living with her, as well as 5 yo granddaughter Colleen Cox, presumably the daughter of Melvin.8
Census1940Ravenna appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Mattoon, Coles Co., Illinois, enumerated 26 April 1940, as 56 yo widowed lodging house keeper Ravena Stewart. Her children 39 yo widower son Melvin C and 37 yo divorced son Fred M Cox were listed as living with her, as well as 15 yo granddaughter Colleen S J Cox and 8 other lodgers.9
Death*Ravenna died on 15 April 1954 in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at age 72.4

Birth*Lloyd, son of Dorton Daily Fleming and Sarah Jane Myers, was born in October 1891 in Illinois.2
Census1900Lloyd appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Mattoon, Coles Co., Illinois in the household of his parents, Dorton Daily Fleming and Sarah Jane Myers, as 8 yo son Loyd Fleming.2
Milit-BegE*He enlisted in the US Army at Jefferson Co., Missouri, on 27 December 1910. There's much to like about this record but I'm not certain it's the correct man. He was born in Allensville, IL, which is right in the middle of East Nelson Twp. His age is 21.2 yo which works to a birthdate of October 1889 rather than October 1891. He's an electrician, brown eyes, medium brown hair, fair complexion, 5'-7¾" tall. He deserted March 11, 1911. No additional info in the Army record.3
Residence*Lloyd resided in St. Louis, Missouri, on 25 August 1924, as Lloyd Fleming, according to his father's obit.4

Birth*David was born circa 1877 in Shelby Co., Illinois, s/o James K Osborn & Sarah J Liddle.1
Marriage*He married Vera Fleming, daughter of Dorton Daily Fleming and Sarah Jane Myers, on 6 August 1899 in Moultrie Co., Illinois.1
Census1900*David and Vera appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of East Nelson Twp., Moultrie Co., Illinois, enumerated 14 June 1900, as 21 yo farmer Wilbert & 17 yo wife Vera Osborn.2
ResearchNote*Research Note of 25 May 2020 re census analysis. By the 1910 census Vera has died, Wilbert has remarried (ca. 1909) to Rosetta Uhlmann, and has a 0.1 yo son Otis Leland Osborn. Rosetta's mother is living with them as 66 yo mother-in-law Lizzie Uhlmann. Recall that David's cousin Charles D Myers married Marie Uhlmann and that her mother was Lissette Uhlman. It's highly likely that Marie and Rosetta are sisters. In the 1920 census we find David W & Rosie, still in Broken Bow, with children Otis L, Homer L, Raymond D and Elida H Osborn.3
