Eva Rebecca Maltman1
F, #9672, b. 11 April 1878
Birth* | Eva was born on 11 April 1878 in New Jersey, d/o William & Rebecca Maltman.2,1 |
ResearchNote* | Research Note of 25 April 2020 re census issues. The Rebecca Maultman, d/o Hugh Grover, in the 1880 census of Philadelphia is not this person. That Rebecca is 35 yo with a 9 yo son. That would put her birthyear at 1856 earliest, clearly in conflict with the 1920 & 1930 censuses. Also, that Rebecca was born in PA, not NJ.3 |
Marriage* | She married Samuel Lorenzo Dow Barcklow, son of Benjamin F. Barcklow and Rebecca Jane Hammell, on 14 October 1918 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania, County Marriages, 1885-1950 says 19 October.1,4 |
Census1920* | Eva and Samuel appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Haddonfield, Camden Co., New Jersey, enumerated 9 January 1920, as 52 yo stair & millwork builder Sam'l L D & 41 yo wife Eva R Barcklow.5 |
Census1930 | Eva and Samuel appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Haddonfield, Camden Co., New Jersey, enumerated 8 April 1930, as 62 yo Samuel L D & 51 yo wife Eva R Barcklow.6 |

Jennie Hough1
F, #9674, b. circa 1864
Birth* | Jennie, daughter of Fannie Lnu, was born circa 1864.1 |
Marriage* | She married Samuel Lorenzo Dow Barcklow, son of Benjamin F. Barcklow and Rebecca Jane Hammell, on 8 May 1888 in Gloucester City, Camden Co., New Jersey. Married 11 years with 2 born and 2 living in the 1900 census. Jennie is with her mother in Camden, Sam is with his brother-in-law & sister in Camden. Both show married, Cause of separate enumerations is unknown. In the 1910 census her marriage status has been overwritten so it reads both widowed and divorced. It appears the original was widowed and the change was to divorced. My preliminary research suggests their children were Howard L (1892-1918) and Leslie D Barcklow (male) (1895-1938).1,3,2,4 |

John Bailey1
M, #9684, b. November 1854
Birth* | John was born in November 1854 in New Jersey.1 |
Census1900* | John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Gloucester City, Camden Co., New Jersey, enumerated 7 June 1900, as 45 yo engineer John & 37 yo wife Hettie Bailey. His daughter Bertha V. was listed as living with him, as well as Bertha's husband Charles Barcklow, two of Bertha's siblings and one boarder. There are several issues with this enumeration - Charles's birthstate is incorrect, married 0.1 years rather than 1.2 years, surname really is written Arkwell which is a bit of a stretch for Barcklow, Charles's birthdate is Nov 1876 rather than July. None are deal killers but it makes one wonder. Good news is both John W Bailey & Hettie Ann Bailey are buried in the same cemetery as Charles & Bertha.1 |
