My preliminary research suggests their children were Susan A (1856-1886), Charles R (1858-1895), and John H Watkins (1859-1881). The death years aren't confirmed but the birth years do line up well with censuses.3,4
Census1860*	Samuel and Martha appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Cadiz P.O., Trigg Co., Kentucky, enumerated 14 August 1860, as 31 yo S J & 34 yo Martha A Watkins. Their children 3 yo Susan A, 2 yo Charles R, and 0.6 yo Jnol Watkins were listed as living with them. Also in the home was 17 yo James E Boyd, farm laborer.5
Census1870	Samuel and Martha appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Wallonia Pct., Trigg Co., Kentucky, enumerated 12 September 1870, as 41 yo Samuel J & 44 yo Martha A Watkins. Their children 13 yo Susan A, 11 yo Charles R, and 10 yo John H Watkins were listed as living with them. Also in the home one farm laborer.6
Census1880	Samuel and Martha appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Wallonia Dist. 3, Trigg Co., Kentucky, enumerated 21 June 1880, as 50 yo S J & 55 yo Martha A Wadkins. Their sons 22 yo Charles R, and 20 yo John H Watkins were listed as living with them. Also in the home are one boarder and one farm laborer.7

Birth*	Mary, daughter of Young J. Means and Martha C. Palmer, was born on 26 October 1832 in Kentucky. Find A Grave claims she's the d/o Y J Means & Martha Parmer (sic). I disagree. Young J Means & Martha C Palmer did have a daughter Martha E Means, but she was born ca. 1841-42. The census record does not support a daughter Mary C at all. Furthermore Martha E shows up in her parents' 1860 census.3

Marriage*	She married James Henry Boyd, son of Hardy Boyd and Mary "Polly" Torian, on 16 February 1849 in Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky. My preliminary research suggests their children were James Young (1850-1924, m. Alice E Boyd), Susan Bell (1853-1869), Joshua D (1857-1940, m. Annie E Ferguson), and Mattie Henry Boyd (1861-1944, m. Luther H Smithson). All four kids have Find A Grave memorials.5,6,7,1

Census1870*	Mary appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Hamby Pct., Christian Co., Kentucky, enumerated 18 July 1870, as 38 yo Mary K Boyd. Her children 20 yo James Y, 12 yo Joshua D, and 9 yo Mattie Boyd were listed as living with her.10

Mary A Farmer), Virginia "Jenny" (1854-1887, m. James H Irvin), Charles Edward (1856-1946, m. Alice E Spencer), and Lucy A Gresham (1858-1931, m. William A Irvin). Census1860	Archibald and Susan appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Olio Twp., Woodford Co., Illinois, enumerated 9 July 1860, as 56 yo Archibald & 45 yo Susan Gresham. All of their kids were with them: namely, 21 yo John W, 23 yo Susan J, 16 yo Henrietta O, 14 yo James, 12 yo Robert H, 10 yo Louisa B, 7 yo Richard C, 6 yo Virginia, 4 yo Charles E, and 1 yo Lucy A Gresham.6
Census1870	Archibald and Susan appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Olio Twp., Woodford Co., Illinois, enumerated 30 July 1870, as 63 yo Abram & 59 yo Susan Griffiths. No kidding. But the list of children makes it clear this is Archibald & Susan Gresham. The children living with them were 30 yo Susan, 26 yo Olive, 21 yo Robert, 19 yo Laura (Louise), 18 yo Ruben (Richard), 16 yo Jane (Jenny), 14 yo Charles, and 12 yo Lucy Gresham. Yes there are five significant errors but overall I'm sure this is the family in question. The ages are all very good.7
Census1880	Archibald and Susan appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Olio Twp., Woodford Co., Illinois, enumerated 9 June 1880, as 72 yo A & 65 yo Susan Gresham. The children living with them were 42 yo dau Susan J, 30 yo dau Henrietta, and 21 yo son Richard Gresham.8

Marriage*	She married George Boyd, son of Hardy Boyd and Mary "Polly" Torian, on 21 September 1848 in Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky. My preliminary research suggests their children were Lucy Ann (1849-1930, m. Fnu Major), Joshua (c1850- ), John Milton (1852-1932, m1 Mary Alice Laswell, m2 Frances K Petrie), Sarah V (c1853- ), Alice (c1855- ), Susan (c1858- ), and Lettie Boyd (c1862- ). These two are real pills in the 1850 & 1870 censuses. If anyone ever finds them I'd like to hear about it.3,1

Death*	Eliza died on 17 March 1903 in Elm Creek, Buffalo Co., Nebraska, at age 81. The memorial says she died in Illinois but the obit says at her son's home in Elm Creek, NE.2

Milit-Service*	James Anderson Torian served with Co. A, 4th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry (Neely's) during the Civil War between 1861 and 1864. The military portion of his Find A Grave bio reads as follows, 'James served with the confederate army in the Civil War, probably with his brothers Christopher and Peter. He served in the Tennessee 4th Infantry. His compiled service record shows a Muster in roll at Fort Pillow, Tennessee, May 15, 1861, at Germantown for 1 year unless sooner discharged. Muster roll for September and October 1862 shows absent, wounded at Perryville and the Muster roll for January and February 1863 shows he is absent and a prisoner. By the July and August 1863 Muster roll he was shown as returned from prison August 12 and was unfit for duty and on furlough. He continued to be listed as absent and sick, January, February, March and April 1864. The Roll of Prisoners of War shows he was arrested at Perryville, Kentucky on October 8, 1962, received at Camp Chase, Ohio June 14, 1863, whence Lexington, Kentucky, was 5 feet 11 inches, age 19, eyes hazel, hair light, complexion, sallow, date of departure June 26, 1863, and transferred to Johnson’s Island. Other Rolls of Prisoners show he was sent to Fort Monroe July 23, 1863 and exchanged at Fort Monroe, Virginia, on August 4, 1863. He was at the General Hospital, Petersburg, Virginia, with a medical complaint involving his left leg, furloughed 40 days August 13, 1863, and retired September 15, 1864, at Grenada, Mississippi'.4,6

My preliminary research suggests their children were Julian (1867-1952, m. Adelaide Parmenter), Maiden (1870-1874), Robert Anderson (1871-1872), Emma Floid (1873-1917, m. Henry F Owens), Joe Cyrus (1877-1936, m. Effie Hargis), Nevada (1878-1970, m. James L Pursley), Beulah Benton (1883-1971, m. Winfield L Johnson), Arabelle (1881-b1900), Gela Myrtle (1886-1975, m. Arthur M Nelson), Baby Arbuckle(1888-1888), and Robert "Bobby" Roy Arbuckle (1889-1921). Trees lists 2 other possibilities, Gordon Grainger and Vada Arbuckle. I find no evidence for either and the sources cited in Trees are useless IMO.5,6,2

Census1900	Georgia and Thomas appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Campbell Twp., Greene Co., Missouri, enumerated 4 July 1900, as 62 yo Thomas G & 52 yo Georgie A Arbuckle. Their children 25 yo Thomas B, 21 yo John H, 19 yo Nellie, 17 yo Sadie (Troxel), 14 yo Settie, and 9 yo George A Arbuckle were listed as living with them. Sadie's husband 22 yo James W Troxel is also in the home along with an unknown niece 19 yo Annie Bryant. James's occupation is huckster.5

Birth*	Martha was born in January 1854 in Graves Co., Kentucky. Find A Grave notes her name might be Sarah Agnes and that the censuses are inconsistent. I've found Sarah and Martha, but no Agnes for first names.3
Marriage*	She married James A. Arbuckle, son of Alexander W. Arbuckle and Arabella Torian, circa 1878. Married 22 yrs with 10 born and 7 living in the 1900 census. My preliminary research suggests their children were Wesman Vernon (1878-1963, m1 Iva Sheridan, m2 Marie McHenry), Jennie Martha "Mae" (1880-1966, m. Robt Lee Brady), Rose Ethel (1881-1881), Nancy "Nannie" Gertrude (1883-1959, m. Robt L Caldwell), Minnie O (1884-1966), Claude Leroy "Roy" (1887-1960, m. Leora "Lee" Thompson), William Clyde (1888-1975, m. Nina Sullivan), Mary Lou (1890-1891), Jessie Linnise (1893-1987, m. W Z Sullivan), and Daisy Lorene Arbuckle (1897-1899). Find A Grave and FSTrees are shockingly consistent in this listing. All are confirmed by at least one census.4,1

Census1900	Martha and James appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Mag. Dist. 4, Graves Co., Kentucky, enumerated 12 June 1900, as 59 yo James & 46 yo Agnes Arbuckle. Their children 17 yo Nannie (indexed Winnie), 15 yo Minie, 12 yo Ray, 11 yo Clid, and 6 yo Jessie Arbuckle were listed as living with them.5
Census1910*	Martha appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Mag. Dist. 3, Ballard Co., Kentucky, enumerated 23 April 1910, as 56 yo widow Agnes Arbuckle. Her children 33 yo Roy and 15 yo Jessie Arbuckle were listed as living with her, as well as Roy's 20 yo wife Lee.6
Death*	Martha died in 1918 in Fresno Co., California.3

Birth*	Rufus was born on 18 July 1839 in Kentucky, s/o Isaac Miller & Sarah Daniel. The censuses support Trees' claim of 1839 rather than the 1832 on his tombstone. I'll go with tombstone's month and day but Trees' year.2,1
Marriage*	He married Mary Elizabeth Arbuckle, daughter of Alexander W. Arbuckle and Arabella Torian, on 14 February 1866 in Trigg Co., Kentucky. My preliminary research suggests their children were Maggie (1872- ), Asa M (1879- , m. Lena Rogers), Ira Otha (1882-1901), and Wallace Clelan Miller (1883-1959, m. Viola Miller). Ira and Wallace have Find A Grave memorials linked to parents.1,3

Census1880	Rufus and Mary appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Canada Twp., Labette Co., Kansas, enumerated 18 June 1880, as 40 yo R H & 36 yo M E Miller. Their children 7 yo Maggie B and 0.8 yo Asa M Miller were listed as living with them.5
Census1900	Rufus and Mary appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Clay Twp., Greene Co., Missouri, enumerated 4 June 1900, as 60 yo R H & 57 yo Mary E Miller. Their children 20 yo Asa M, 18 yo Ira O, and 16 yo Wallace C Miller were listed as living with them.6

Birth*	Virginia was born on 10 April 1849 in Trigg Co., Kentucky, d/o John McAtee & Sarah Edwards. Middle initial possibly M or A.2,3
Marriage*	She married Robert A. Arbuckle, son of Alexander W. Arbuckle and Arabella Torian, on 17 January 1867 in Trigg Co., Kentucky. This is a messy family. Trees claims 16 children but that's nonsense. Find A Grave shows 9 and that's closer to the truth. Virginia's 1900 census shows 11 born with 7 living, numbers with which I can agree. My preliminary research suggests their children were Julian (1867-1952, m. Adelaide Parmenter), Maiden (1870-1874), Robert Anderson (1871-1872), Emma Floid (1873-1917, m. Henry F Owens), Joe Cyrus (1877-1936, m. Effie Hargis), Nevada (1878-1970, m. James L Pursley), Beulah Benton (1883-1971, m. Winfield L Johnson), Arabelle (1881-b1900), Gela Myrtle (1886-1975, m. Arthur M Nelson), Baby Arbuckle(1888-1888), and Robert "Bobby" Roy Arbuckle (1889-1921). Trees lists 2 other possibilities, Gordon Grainger and Vada Arbuckle. I find no evidence for either and the sources cited in Trees are useless IMO.3,4,1

Their children 3 yo male Julian and 0.7 yo male Maiden Arbuckle were listed as living with them. Given the likely misspelling, what was Maiden's real name? Or is male incorrect, or maybe it's one of those A Boy Named Sue things.5
Census1880	Virginia and Robert appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Taylor Twp., Greene Co., Missouri, enumerated 16 June 1880, as 35 yo R A & 30 yo Virginia Arbuckle. Their children 12 yo Julian, 7 yo Emma, 3 yo Syrus, and 1 yo Nevada Arbuckle were listed as living with them.6
Census1900*	Virginia appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Taylor Twp., Greene Co., Missouri, as 48 yo widowed mother-in-law Virginia M Arabuckle in the household of son-in-law & daughter James & Nevada Pursley. Virginia had been widowed about 17 months earlier. Three of her other children (Nevada's siblings) were in the home: namely, 16 yo Bula, 14 yo Gela, and 10 yo Robert Arabuckle.7
Census1930	Virginia appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri, enumerated 12 April 1930, as 83 yo widow Virginia M Arbuckle. Her 39 yo widowed daughter Gela Nelson was in the home with her.8
Death*	Virginia died on 28 November 1939 in Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri, at age 90.1
