Census1850*William and Margaret appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Dist. 25, Dade Co., Missouri, enumerated 10 October 1850, as 21 yo farmer William & 22 yo Margaret Poindexter (indexed Poudester). Their children Nancy Ellen and Mary F. were listed as living with them, as well as one farm hand.3 
Marriage*Their second marriage was to Rebecca Jane Nickols, daughter of John Nickols and Tracy Nickols, between 1850 and 1853. Date based on sons William B. and John T. both showing their mother born Virginia, as was Rebecca, rather than Tennessee, as was William's first wife Margaret in the 1880 census.4,1 
Census1860*William and Rebecca appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Polk Twp., Dade Co., Missouri, enumerated 21 June 1860, as 32 yo William & 32 yo Rebecca Poindexter. Their children Nancy Ellen, Mary F., Archie B., William B., John T. and James Frank were listed as living with them. Of the six children living with them, three, Ellen, Mary and Archie are definitely William's by his 1st wife Margaret. Sons William B and John T may be sons of either Margaret or Rebecca. James S Jacobs is definitely Rebecca's by her prior marriage.
Rebecca's sister Sarah, her husband Robert F. Poindexter, and their two children live next door.2 
Death*William died between 1864 and 1870. Date not a guarantee but wife Rebecca is alone as HOH in the 1870 census with his children.5
