Blount County, located in Eastern Tennessee, was formed in 1795, a year before Tennessee became a state. It was formed from part of Knox County which in turn was formed in 1791 from parts of Greene & Hawkins Counties. In 1870, part of Blount County was used to help form Loudon County. Blount County has the following neighbor counties, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Sevier, and Swain, NC.
